Need a huge partnership from these two. Not that there's much hope of getting these runs.

Abject from England. Apart from Root and Cook, who were both dismissed by jaffas, none of the England batsmen know how to play a 5-day Test Match any more. Too much limited-overs cricket? Jennings and Ballance have to go, anyway. The thing that worries me most is, who is coming through to replace Anderson and Broad?

Samit for Dawson?

Stoneman for Ballance/Jennings?

Stoneman and Westley for Ballance and Jennings?

Stoneman and Westley for Dawson and Jennings, with Ballance dropping to 5?

Roland-Jones for Wood?

One of the Overton's or the Curran's for Wood?

Steven Mullaney is the outstanding allrounder in country cricket this season (D2 yes, but he's averaging 15 with the ball and 62 with the bat). Been quality for a few years now, but this season he has really stepped it up. But I can't see him ever being thought of as a fit at international level.

Newspaper reports over the weekend mentioned that Crane was in line to play a part in this series, but only if Woakes had been available - which he isn't. (Woakes and Crane for Dawson and Wood doesn't really weaken the batting, but it certainly improves the bowling - even if I believe it is probably too soon for Crane). If this is true though, then it remains a viable option for the WI series later in the summer. In which case leaving out Wood and/or Dawson during this series should not be much of an issue for the selectors (if they are planning on doing it later anyway).

Compton, Brendy. He can hang around for hours without scoring to much.

Woakes. Tom Curran. Sam Curran. The Currans in particular are very talented.

Can't fathom the T20 schedules out, all week great weather, no games, come Thursday and Friday 2 games close together and nasty forecast!

England Ladies coasting but a few quick wickets have changed that. Need a run a ball....doesn't sound hard but SA playing it tight and England having to do it in singles. Another wicket falls....now 173-6. Shame to miss out on a final in your own country....come on, England. .
