Shame to lose that wicket right before tea, just as that partnership was starting to get going. But after all the assistance for the seamers, there does seem to be assistance for the spinners too. Something like 220 could be a solid score.
Sussex now 33/2. Did you know county cricket is over 300 years old? Matches between Kent and Surrey are recorded from as long ago as 1707. That seems crazy to me.
I was hoping to get at least four wickets from that session - and I do think we deserved to - but I'll take the three. We need to come back in the morning though and ensure there's no repeat at any point of the single big partnership which decided the entire game when we played them earlier in the season.
This is one of those matches that proves the former player rule. Only Alsopp and Brown really scoring - against their former sides.
Both I would say. However, it will probably (and hopefully!) suit us that we've got very attacking players in Fuller, Barker and Abbott left here - if they can adopt the "attack is the best form of defence" mantra and smack another quick 30 runs or so, that should be enough (in theory). As long as we bowl and catch well, again.
The draw remains a possibility given the poor weather forecast ahead. That would be very frustrating if so, given that the game probably only needs one more session after today - maybe two at most - to a achieve a result.
