Collapsing right before the new ball. Brilliant.

I have zero expectation of us saving this game.

Good thing we bat really deep. We're really seeing full value of that strategy this season...

Right now we're staring relegation in the face.

Final session of day three, and only three of the nine matches are into their third (or fourth) innings.

Good to see we've finally recruited a second overseas replacement, but Cartwright is another one whose best days are behind him. I'm not excited by his signing, but again I accept that our options were limited at this stage.

In the most recent Big Bash, he averaged just 16 with a strike rate of just 118. If he's going to bat at no.5 for us, we're going to need much better numbers than that. (But in the previous Big Bash, his average was 42 at a strike rate of 151.)

I'm not expecting to bowl much, if at all. He seems to have moved towards being a batter-only in t20 cricket in recent times.

Yorkshire-Essex is turning into an interesting game, particularly when you consider it's 9th vs 8th.

India resting Bumrah for this test is crazy in my book. I understand why they will only play him in 3 of the 5 matches, totally get that. But there was a week between the first and second test and India really need to win this one. Plus the gaps between the remaining tests are smaller so less rest time.

Well done Ben.

This was already a record for most ever centuries in a round of championship matches, and now there's one more.
