Well done to Pakistan. A country that is often in the headlines for its divisions, attrocities and natural disasters, can celebrate the success of its immensely talented cricketers. I would love them to become a more dominant test team so that would mean turning over Australia and South African in their own backyards.

Good luck to Nottinghamshire in the final and I hope they stuff Surrey. (It's petty but Surrey are my least favourite county in the CCC) Stems from the fact that I support Middlesex as I was born there, and Hampshire as I spent much of my childhood, when not at school, and adult life in the county.

Too posh by half, my laddo!

I'm still too depressed about the demise of Worcestershire, my adopted county (my cricketing hero of all time is D'Oliveira) to care. But on cricket. Pakistan. Wow. Just got off the phone from my mate in Sheffield who is ecstatic. Course, being Muslim he can't drink, and it being the time of fasting he can't even have a decent celebratory meal. Told him the win was wasted. Had it been England we'd have all been pissed and throwing up in Indian restaurants, being a cultured lot.

I want Surrey to win , purely because if Sangakara .
