Reports are suggesting that Chelsea have offered sturridge a generous 1.5million cut of the 12 million transfer fee to complete his Liverpool transfer! This was because Sturridge indicated he might be willing to stay and run his contract down.

Two thing strike me about this.

1). How committed is he to coming to us or is it all about money?

2). If I change jobs I'd probably leave with a reference and bugger all else.

Unfair to claim these reports are true. No one will ever truly know, I think the media have jumped on the "he's a bit greedy" bandwagon.
Can't imagine a player ever taking that stance, although he might have learnt it since being in the chelsea squad.

  3. I would see this as a positive. Sturridge is willing to stay and fight for a place. Yes, you could spin that and say he's not keen on joining us but he could just be a lad that doesn't like change and feels part of Chelsea FC. If he joins us then he will build that relationship with Liverpool FC too.

they certainly live in a cozy little bubble same as usless MP's

that attitude does worry me, but we don't know how accurate the report is.

give him the benefit of the doubt, just hope he doesn't turn out to be another Downing and only start performing when shown the door.

Or.. it could be read that because they sold him, and he hadn't asked for a move, therefore he was entitled to a certain percentage of his remaining contract?

    Just a thought ;)

Yeah, seems Chelsea will part fund the Falcao move with this Sturridge cash.

Only about a quarter of it though,Falcao's maybe the best striker in Europe over the
last year or so and Chelsea will have to pay a top price for him.

Prefer he stayed in Spain myself, don't want him at one of our rivals.
