Um, guys, you have done a really great job keeping this thread alive for so long, but I think the time has come to just let it slip away on to page 2.

It's the kindest thing, really. Perhaps Devon and Woopert could just take a moment to reflect on all the trivia that we have learnt and forgotten in equal measure, and if you wish to say a few words, then I think that would appropriate.

Well, I four one would like to thank Channon for all his support and his part in keeping the thread ticking over for what seems an eternity, my friends and family for their contributions and support, blah, blah, blah.................

One of the great things about not606 compared with 'lesser forums' is the fact that those being commented upon go back to the top of the list. On the old 606 a thread like this would have lasted only a couple of days as only those who had posted on it would know of it's existence from their member page (on 606 how many people used to trawl through pages of threads looking for one to comment on?)

If I leave it for a couple of days and it disappears into the abyss then so be it, but if others come and post on it then - let it roll. <ok>

381 a newish Bus route from Peckham to Waterloo, used to be the P11. I love this thread, keep it going if you can, I might get bored after the 1,000 mark.
 
The 389th Bombardment group (Heavy) flew B24 Liberators from the UK from 1943 onwards and were heavily involved in the Ploesti oil field raids that took such a heavy toll of men and machines.
 
In the year 391 - All non-Christian temples in the Empire are closed, as Theodosius establishes Christianity as the official state religion. The eternal fire in the Temple of Vesta in the Roman Forum was extinguished, and the Vestal Virgins were disbanded.

Shame about the Vestal Virgins though..............
