Locomotive, Diesel 4306
Locomotive 4306 was ordered in June 1954 as part of a class of six. It was built by A. Goninan and Company of Broadmeadow near Newcastle as works number 16, with components from a number of suppliers. The main engine was supplied by American Locomotive Company (ALCo), the electrical equipment by General Electric (GE) and Australian Electrical Industries (AEI). The class was ordered in small numbers simultaneously with a similar sized order placed with Clyde Engineering for a General Motors outline diesel-electric. In this way the two orders can be seen as prototypical examples of contemporary diesel-electric locomotive technology. The 43 class itself is noted as being based upon an experimental GE locomotive. Locomotive 4306 was the last to enter service being placed in traffic in June 1957. The class was rostered on passenger workings, initially on the central west line. Following electrification to Lithgow in 1957, the class was transferred to service on the North Coast line and the main north, working from Broadmeadow with express freight services. Being a member of a small class, withdrawals took place quite early with number starting to dwindle in the mid-1970s. The last member of the class in service was 4306, being withdrawn in October 1979.

Following withdrawal, this engine was subsequently transferred to the custodianship of the New South Wales Rail Transport Museum. It was originally obtained as a source of spares to enable locomotive 4001 to be restored to operating condition, but during the early 1980s it was decided that 4306 should stand as a significant historical exhibit in its own right. To this end, the locomotive was restored to the stage where the body repairs were completed, all fittings made operational, and the engine repaired, started and checked. State Rail then undertook to complete the restoration and commissioning as part of the 140th Railway Celebrations in 1995.

The pardon of Richard Nixon (formally known as Proclamation 4311) was a presidential proclamation issued by President of the United States Gerald Ford on September 8, 1974.
By it, Ford granted to Richard Nixon, his predecessor, a full and unconditional pardon for any crimes that he might have committed against the United States as president.
In particular, the pardon covered Nixon's actions during the Watergate scandal.
In a televised broadcast to the nation, Ford, who had succeeded to the presidency upon Nixon's resignation, explained that he felt the pardon was in the best interests of the country and that the Nixon family's situation was "a tragedy in which we all have played a part.
It could go on and on and on, or someone must write the end to it.
I have concluded that only I can do that, and if I can, I must."

BHP currently operate a motive power fleet in the Pilbara with 182 locomotives based on the EMD / Progress Rail SD70ACe design with both standard and /LC 'low clearance' and later /Lci 'low clearance international' models.

Some of the units in the SD70ACe fleet differ from the standard US model and are designated 'LC' or 'LCi' being Low Clearance international. They also have dual marker or classification lights each end, lit rear number boards, an engine fire suppression system, dual horizontal hand rails, later units with kick plates and a snow (or cow) plough each end.
The first order of thirteen units had the standard US cab assembly, with all following orders having the isolated or 'whisper' cab to reduce the noise levels in the cab. These original thirteen units (4301-4313) have since been returned to Progress Rail as trade-ins on updated 'isolated cab' units, the spare parts source [HASHTAG]#4300[/HASHTAG] was subsequently scrapped after most useable items were removed.
Ten units are standard 'off the self' US models that were part of an order for BNSF, and are in an all over orange livery (4324-4333). These ten units were subsequently modified by BHP and EDi to lead unit status.

miR‐4319 inhibited the development of thyroid cancer by modulating

Thyroid cancer, a common type of endocrine system cancer, has witnessed rising incidence and deaths over the past few years. The role of microRNAs is being increasingly discovered in a variety of cancers, including thyroid cancer. miR‐4319 has been elucidated in several studies to exert an antitumor function in multiple cancers but has never been explored in thyroid cancer. Our study proposed to explore the function and modulatory mechanism of miR‐4319 in thyroid cancer. First, we confirmed the downregulation of miR‐4319 in thyroid cancer tissues and cells, and revealed the correlation of miR‐4319 expression and clinical features in thyroid cancer. Functional assays illustrated that miR‐4319 attenuated proliferation, migration, and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in thyroid cancer. Mechanistically, we identified through the miRDB database and proved that miR‐4319 targeted SMAD specific E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 1 (SMURF1). Furthermore, we discovered that miR‐4319 competed with fused in sarcoma (FUS) to bind to SMURF1, inhibiting the stabilization of SMURF1 messenger RNA. Rescue assays suggested that miR‐4319 ******ed proliferation, migration, and EMT through SMURF1. Collectively, the results of this study showed that miR‐4319 inhibited the development of thyroid cancer by modulating FUS‐stabilized SMURF1, indicating miR‐4319 as a potent biological target for thyroid cancer.

BNSF has passed 16 weeks of testing a National Railway Equipment high-adhesion NR33CDE-IAC locomotive, an EMD SD40-2 that has been modified to increase tractive effort and adhesion. The unit, says NRE, is showing “promising results.”

NRE equipped the six-axle locomotive, No. 4321, with a 3,300hp-645E3-AR10-D78s extended DB propulsion platform. Equipped with NRE’s NFORCE microprocessor, traction control card and Independent Axle Control (IAC) modules, NRE says the locomotive is achieving a tractive effort of 33%-34%. Fully fueled, the locomotive weighs 192.5 tons (385,000 pounds)
