3248 - TOP-ENTRY CRYOGENIC CONTROL VALVE

The Type 3248 top entry threaded seat globe and angle style control valve is designed for cryogenic service applications up to the limits of the ANSI 600 pressure class rating.

The Type 3248 cryogenic valve is specifically designed to meet the requirements of cryogenic applications with the addition of a cryogenic extension bonnet cover plate to allow for installation in vacuum insulated pipelines, and air separation plants as well as standardizing on a metal bellows with a cryogenic length extension bonnet in order to meet emission requirements and minimize heat leaks. The top entry design allows for valve maintenance without removal from pipeline.

The Type 3248 can be assembled with a pneumatic, electric, hydraulic, or electro-hydraulic actuator also offered by the SAMSON group to complete the control valve construction. These control valves are designed according to the modular assembly principle, can be equipped with SAMSON GROUP actuators and valve accessories such as positioners, limit switches, and solenoid valves.

The Type 3249 aseptic angle control valve is designed for the strict sanitary requirements of the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries such as FDA and EHEDG. The valve body is designed without cavities, having a smooth, polished, satin, or mirror finish on internal and external surfaces, and the stem guide is sealed by a diaphragm. A test connection enables the diaphragm to be monitored for leakages. This design can be cleaned and sterilized using the CIP or SIP methods.

The Type 3249 can be assembled with a pneumatic, electric, hydraulic, or electro-hydraulic actuator also offered by the SAMSON group to complete the control valve construction. Nokia 3250
The Nokia 3250 (code-named Thunder) is a smartphone running Symbian OS v9.1 (S60 3rd Edition), announced on September 26, 2005. It features a unique 'twist' design that transforms the traditional phone keypad into a camera (90° CW/CCW) and dedicated music control keys (180° CCW). It was marketed as a music phone and can store up to 2 gigabytes of music (500 songs) and other data thanks to a microSD memory card slot, and features a two-megapixel camera as well as other smartphone capabilities.

The triband GSM 900/1800/1900 model started shipping in the first quarter of 2006 with an estimated retail price of 300 EUR before subsidies or taxes.

The preserved 3251 at Bressingham

Seventeen C1s made it to serve British Railways, albeit for a short time.
According to The Railway Magazine, the last engine in service was BR 62822, ex GNR 294.
On 26 November 1950 she hauled a train one way from Kings Cross to Doncaster to mark the end of the C1s.
Among the many on board was the son of H.A. Ivatt, Mr. H.G. Ivatt who received one of the builder's plates.
On display at Doncaster was pioneer sister ex GNR 251, already preserved, and a number of modern engines.
The return trip to London was hauled by A1 Pacific 60123 named, suitably enough, H.A. Ivatt.

Canadian National 3254

Canadian National 3254 is a 2-8-2 "Mikado" type steam locomotive built in 1917 for the Canadian National Railway by the Canadian Locomotive Company as a member of the Canadian National class S-1-b . It is a part of the operating fleet at the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

History
Canadian National 3254 was built in 1917 by the Canadian Locomotive Company for the Canadian Government Railwayswhere it was numbered 2854. In 1918, the Canadian Government Railways combined with the Canadian Northern Railwayformed the Canadian National Railways. The 3254 had considerable pulling power, could climb grades with ease, and was used to handle very heavy freight trains until the Canadian National retired it in 1958.

In November, 1961 it was sold to motel owner Willis F. Barron who moved it to Ashland, Pennsylvania and intended to run the locomotive on the Reading Company's branchline that served the town. The tracks into Ashland were pulled up before Barron's planned venture could begin operation, so he had 3254 disassembled, moved via truck and reassembled at his motel to be used as a static display. In 1982 it was sold to the Gettysburg Railroad. In the summer of 1987, the steam locomotive arrived at Steamtown after Steamtown traded Canadian Pacific 4-6-2 [HASHTAG]#1278[/HASHTAG] and cash for the 3254.

Steamtown also has a Canadian National class S-1-d Mikado, the 3377, on static display. In 2010, the 3254's tender was rusted and leaking, so a new one was rebuilt (keeping the original underframe). The new tank was then put on the 3377's tender frame, and the 3377's tank was scrapped. 3254 was taken out of service indefinitely after the 2012 season. She was taken out of service at the end of 2012 with time still on the clock - the reason supposedly being issues with either the boiler/firebox or the frame, combined with other needed maintenance which made further operation impractical.

CN 3254 had sustained a good collision at some point during her service life - her frame horns are bent and the frame is also bowed to one side, causing the cab to sit off-center. She has frequently been described as a "rough rider," and had been chewing up bearings at an accelerated rate.

Many parts on 3254 are actually from sister engine CN 3377, which had been put on the dead line with only 500 or so miles after Class repairs (anyone know what level?). 3377 was unfortunately the target of copper thieves during her trip to Steamtown (North Walpole version) and was never repaired. She almost had her chance as a part of the Vermont Bicentennial along with 2317 and 5288, but it never came to pass (plans were scaled down for one engine instead of three, [HASHTAG]#2317[/HASHTAG]).

At one point, the rumor mill was churning on about 3254's boiler being placed on 3377's frame, sort of a best-of-both-worlds scenario (3377's boiler, as far as I know, has not been checked but there are no known defects, either). While the engines are very similar, they also have a lot of differences, which made this swap impractical. However, 3254 and her sister 3377 are both ideally suited for the park's needs and it is not surprising that '77 has, from what I can tell, become the next locomotive on the list for operational restoration following the return of B&M 3713.

Another component in the mix is a stainless steel tender body that was constructed for 3254 in 2010. At the time, 3377's tender body was scrapped, with the plan of 3254's current tender body going onto 3377's tender frame, and the new body joining with 3254. It has been confirmed that the stainless steel body will fit either frame without issue so the new tender body can simply stay with 3377 (a big hurdle already cleared).

These instruments accept inputs from various analog voltage sources, including DC-to-DC LVDT's, potentiometer-type sensors, Hall-Effect devices, photocells, current shunts, and the outputs of other instrument systems with various grounding configurations and voltage/impedance levels.



The Model 3263 Analog Input Conditioner / Indicator is the "Form 2" instrument, providing vivid front-panel digital indication of measured values, scalable in desired engineering units.

The Model 3363 Analog Input Conditioner / Indicator / Controller is the "Form 3" instrument, and includes HI/LO limit detection with control output.

The signal source can be grounded or floating, and may use 2-, 3-, or 4-wire cabling, as shown below. A regulated 10-V supply is provided for excitation of potentiometers, DC-to-DC sensors, and similar devices. Full-scale sensitivity is continuously adjustable in four jumper-selectable ranges. Three standard 5-V outputs are provided.

With a sensitive, high-impedance floating differential input, wide common-mode range, and exceptional common-mode rejection, these models can be used to obtain difficult low-level signals from highly off-ground sources, without common-mode AC or DC offset problems.

Selectable low-pass active filtering allows the smoothing of unwanted normal-mode dynamic components that might prevent stable digital conversion or control action.

Steam locomotive No. 3265
Made by Beyer, Peacock & Co in Manchester, England, 1901.
The 32 class steam locomotive was probably the most successful and enduring steam locomotive in Australia. Designed by William Thow, Locomotive Superintendent of the New South Wales Railways, in consultation with the builder, Beyer, Peacock & Company of Manchester, England, the first locomotive of the class entered service on 10th February 1892. The “English express locomotives”, as they became known, soon developed a reputation for versatility and reliability and they continued in use until displaced by diesels from the mid-1950s. In fact a 32 class locomotive hauled the last regular steam-hauled passenger service on the New South Wales railways in 1971.
