A SSR grain train had come down from NSW on 1/5/2019 and stabled at Inverleigh overnight to form service 7748V.
The train, consisting of former coal hoppers converted to BGKF grain hoppers, gets underway from a siding and due heavy rain overnight we soon see water cascading down the hoppers as it sloshes off each wagon roof.
Locomotive 7752 is a preserved GWR 5700 Class 0-6-0PT pannier tank engine, built in 1930 by the North British Locomotive Company.
Based at Tyseley Locomotive Works, it is operational, owned by 7029 Clun Castle Ltd, and known for running the last official London Transport steam train in 1971 (as L94).
It has operated on various heritage railways, including the West Somerset Railway and Paignton & Dartmouth Railway.
