6614 at Dyffyrn Yard This was a yard near Port Talbot. 6614 was a Collett 0-6-2T built in 1927. In the background is x615 (4615 or 9615), a Collett pannier tank.
Being an inside cylinder locomotive hardly any of the parts had been removed as they were so hard to get at
The boiler was in very good condition
It was restored between 1979 and 1984 for use on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway with some input from the Kent & East Sussex Railway volunteers. After being overhauled its owners decided that it would go on tour so it visited many railways before ending up at the Yorkshire Dales Railway.
The Coronation was a streamlined express passenger train run by the London and North Eastern Railway between London King's Cross and Edinburgh Waverley. Named to mark the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, it was inaugurated on 5 July 1937.
