When is this code of practice required?
You will be required to comply with this Standard if you intend to sample the level of organic vapours in the atmosphere of a workplace at a mine.



You must ensure that the sample is collected and analysed in accordance with this Standard.



There are two parts of this Standard which set out methods for the sampling and analysis of organic vapours in workplace atmospheres. The current version of these standards are:



  • AS 2986.1-2003: Workplace air quality - Sampling and analysis of volatile organic compounds by solvent desorption/gas chromatography - Pumped sampling method; and
  • AS 2986.2-2003: Workplace air quality - Sampling and analysis of volatile organic compounds by solvent desorption/gas chromatography - Diffusive sampling method.

His father, Carl Williams (May 1, 1935 - September 2, 2001), was a coal miner and his mother, Wanda Faye Williams (née Privett; December 6, 1941 - October 6, 2009), worked for the government, teaching a pre-school program. Williams has an older brother and older sister. He has often discussed his childhood, during which he suffered regular psychological and physical abuse at the hands of his mother. He suffers from anxiety, PTSD, and other mental illnesses as a result of the abuse. Williams attempted suicide as a teenager, and again after the death of his mother in 2009. He has since become an advocate for suicide prevention.

IBM 2991

The IBM 2991 Blood Cell Processor was a blood cell washer developed by IBM Systems Development Division in Endicott, NY. It was first marketed by IBM Systems Supplies Division (SSD) in 1972. The processor washed fresh blood or frozen, thawed blood. In the case of frozen, thawed blood, the blood was washed to remove the cryogenic agent, typically, glycerol.
