I wouldn’t be offended paying £100 for a dog licence, that would still raise billions.

Would stop a lot of knackers who don’t look after them properly getting them. Always a positive.

They probs give free passes to the rich again…

The dog licence fee isn't a bad idea. Might make some people think about whether they actually want a dog.

Well I did pick the few apples that the tree had, perhaps senior management will make an apple pie?
We did have two apple trees but to illustrate how crap a gardener i am. I overpruned the tree, then we had a problem with a water leak and the tree drowned?

I agree but dont, we give enough money to these robbing ****s, it wouldnt be spent on looking after dogs, just thrown into the pot with the other taxes

The dog licence isnt the worse idea in the world. But I doubt people would pay it tbh, not enough anyway. Last time we had one less than 50% paid and it was pennies.

As with all new taxes the cost of administering needs thought. Imagine the cost of this one if you really want to collect the income. Then when you knock on the door to take little Jonnies pug away cos they cant pay. Good luck getting hairy arsed bailiffs doing that. And where are you taking Doug the Pug to exactly?

Aye, not a terrible concept, but entirely impractical in todays society.

No, that's too steep. £100 is reasonable.

We've figured out a good system, we have 5 hens and they have open access to a 4mx2m run and a small coop, we have two cameras (linked to phone app) on them and can leave them for a max of 5 days providing we load their feeders and give them plenty of hanging food.

Looking possible the two child poverty cap ends. One of my significant issues with the last lot and this lot was the failure to sort this - it’s a significant cause of the dip into family poverty. Whatever some think of people’s lifestyles children shouldn’t be the ones punished

Kim McGuinness needs some respect for her child poverty strategy in the north east. She was the only one to do this that I can see and it looks like it’s brought some along with her ie Bridget Phillipson. I was at the launch at the Beacon.

    Tax the rich <ok>

By which I don't mean people on a good salary, they already pay tax. I mean the billionaires who don't need to work but can afford to live like Roman emperors on their passive income. Tax their 2nd and 3rd homes, tax their yachts, tax their assets.
