Ok, it was freezing in Leicester yesterday so we didn't stray far from the station. We went to:
Ale Wagon, 10/10. Great pint and friendly locals. Started and ended up in there.
Blue Boar, 8/10. Equally friendly, cheese and onion bap about a foot thick £2.50. Limited cask beer range.
2-tailed Lion, 6/0. Ok but it's an evening/weekend pub really.
Rutland & Derby Arms ditto.
Ate in Kayal, Granby street, very good but don't expect the usual madras, vindaloo type of menu items, lots of fish things, Kerala specialities.
Blue Boar's worth a look, very small and it was packed, mostly with old folk (like meGot absolutely mullered after a bottomless brunch in the 2 tailed lion and Rutland and Derby one weekend. Tend to be popular with the puffby crowd particularly when the tigers are playing at home they both get absolutely rammed. Rutland and Derby is too quiet for my liking although quite a nice pub for a city.
Never been in the blue boar.
Blue Boar used to be a service station on the M1
Wow!Best thing about winter is the old winter comfort dishes come out, boeuf bourguignon in this case.

Did a shakshouka type thing this morning.
I've got some merguez sausages in the freezer to do a merguez shackshouka at some point
NiceThat’s food all prepped….smokey flavoured belly pork. Into the Aga to slow cook for 7 hours. Oui chef !
