Not really a meat man, but sort of fancy a steak for a change...What is the best steak....Rump or sirloin? I'll have it with chips, mushrooms and a steak sauce.
Ribeye, no thanks. As for careful with the cooking, rare thanks, my steak has been known to actually go in the pan now and again. Oh and ditch the sauce, it masks the flavour of the steak. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Oil and season the steak before you put it into a HOT pan. Let it do its thing for however many minutes you like it each side without constantly moving it around and let it rest for a couple of minutes. I did a rump steak in an air fryer last week and it was surprisingly good.
I'll give it a coat of olive oil back and front. Then planning to put it in a slow cooker, at lowest level, for 8 hours or so...
Air fryers do them well. I have one of those that can steam and crisp and all meats are good in it. Still like them done in my Lodge cast iron pan.
It was a cheap steak from One Stop with a yellow sticker so wasn't investing too much money or effort, but just fancied it for a change from chicken. Found half a bag of frozen onion rings at the back of the freezer anarl. Tasted of victory.
You might want to go for a rib eye for that - something thick anyway, with a bone and a decent amount of fat that should render off. It's all flavour.
Codling off the boat earlier. Baked over tomatoes capers and olives. Spinach and nutmeg side with buttered new potatoes. jPS rollie for desert.
