You'll notice Blyth have now signed a French player!

His transfer fee was £50. <whistle>

Not sure about the 'filling the pockets' bits, but good informative read nevertheless!

Turning the topic back to serious things for a moment - Even if Ashley isn't going to reinvest the money, what are you going to do about it? Another protest? Did a lot of good last time.

No one else (who can afford to purchase it) wants the club, so Mike Ashley will be the boss for a good while yet, and if he is taking money away from the club (which he is actually entitled to), you're far better off trying to be optimistic rather than just pouring doom and gloom over everything.

The protest didn't go very well last time.

I was thinking of singing songs outside Mikes house in our new away tops.

I'd say even if we only sign one more decent (not neccessarily brilliant) striker we'd still be in a strong position to finish higher than we did last season.

I really don't see any reason to panic, especially not at this early stage.

Why do people act like profit is a bad thing? Yes we got a £35m windfall, but doesn't mean that we have to rush out and waste it. Profit is good for a club/company, and it isn't going straight into Ashley's pockets.

    That 3rd kit is timeless.

I'm going to have to watch some Monty Python this weekend.

From the way many fans speak about this you would think the money will disappear in a puff of smoke (or into MA's pockets) on 1 September if it hasn't been spent.

Most fans are realistic in thinking the max spend will be £20m, people have agreed upon that for ages. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone who expects £35m to be spent.
