Was brilliant, although photos never do it justice. There was a light show on that lake to music, screened onto the water from fountains in the middle. Very impressive, and that was just a small part of it. Spent 3 hours wandering round.

Granddaughter absolutely loved it.

I bet she did, just had a look at their prom Video, it looks impressive.

What was the best toy you ever got as a kid??
Evil Knievel ..... my brother and I found it a few weeks earlier on our yearly hunt for the presents when our parents were out. We put it together and played with it, then when we went to put it back in the box we couldn’t get the wind up unit to come apart again.... so stuffed it back in the box still together....

strange that when I got it on Christmas morning, Santa’s elves had obviously been and sorted it out for me as it was back in the box in two pieces just as it should have been...

2 replica pearl handle six guns which fired caps. They were part of a complete junior Cowgirl outfit sent by my aunt in the USA. Outfit included boots with spurs that jingled and jangled, a Stetson hat,a frilled shirt with a photo of cowboy Gene Autry on the front and holsters for the guns. Was about 6 years old at the time back in 1947.

Thereafter it made me a much desired member of the local street play gang as every one wanted to borrow the guns!

As an eight or nine year old, received a two gun cowboy belt but only one gun. It was a beauty but don't know what became of it. Still have the holster sixty years later.

Subbuteo.

Probably in 73.

I had all the accessories required for that big match atmosphere, the crowd and the dugout and the floodlights too.

I even managed to get hold of a Dukla Prague away kit, ‘cos my uncle owned a sports shop and he’d kept it to one side.

Did you go on to work for the DWP? A job with a future.
