He might not be quite so awful, purely propped up by competent players around him. I'd have Schar/Burn as first choice, mind.
Nah, doesn't work like that, because I firmly believe Wood is awful and won't be MoM. I was just saying what tends to then happen is the opposite.
But you've said both options now, ie he's awful and also that he's going to be MOTM, so we're faced with some wierd vortex style reality where the opposite of both happen, and he's has to be awful yet still get MOTM.
Wood will have a terrible overall game, but will somehow bag a hat-trick of pure flukes/mis-hits, hence being awarded MoM for securing the 3 points.
This will be right on the cusp of problematic. They're all fully vaccinated so in theory if he tests negative on days 5 and 6 he is free to crack on isn't he? I suppose it might be more complicated than that with travel etc. We play on the 8th...
I was more pissed off at the time because I was worried about it being a bad look just before going into a massively important window but now feel it may have given a few a rocket and we seem to have managed to get some good players in. In which case, this year we are better off out of it. Usually I would say I'd love a cup run. I'd love a trip to Wembley.
