Whooooooah Norway - you do go off like a rocket. I was trying to be helpful in response to your comment I tried to find you on there and had to play with your user name with and without capitals and with and without spaces I am not a grammar pedant and frankly don't care how you write Next time I wont bother don't worry
OOOps Sorry! How ever in my defence your original statement was ambiguous and open to mis interpretation!
I am in a game with 2RJ - just have not got around to playing chess today - been pre-occupied - will try tomorrow
Toby any time in next few days is good for me ,whenever is best for you Leo received your latest night move but which night you moving?
I'm a bit confused by the rating system. I've won six of the ten matches I've completed, including a 3 wins, 3 defeats record against Toby (it would've been 4-2, but to say that I threw away a commanding position in our last game would be an understatement). Toby has a 3W 4L record overall. Yet somehow he's rated higher than me.
Well I stuffed up against you , I have only played 4 games, one with a stranger had it in the bag and threw it away,2 with NNW 1-1) and a win over Toby! I have no idea on the ratings unless they include points for posts and actively using the other goodies on the site!
From what I gather, the points are your overall score and are calculated in this way: You start at 1400(?) and if you lose you lose points, whilst the player playing against you wins points. When playing a player with a higher score than you, you win half the difference between your 2 scores if you win, and you lose half that amount if you lose, and the winner would get the same amount. The reason I have more points than you NNW is that you beat me 3 times in a row, so my score went down a lot, but I then beat you so would have got loads of points for 1 game, then it would have evened out more. Example: If in the game I just mentioned you had 1600 points and I had 1000, the points available would be: (Difference between scores)/2 = Points gained for me/Points lost for NNW (1600-1000)/2 = 300 But if you had won that, but I'm not sure about this (When the player with the higher score wins): ((Difference between scores)/2)/2 = Points gained for NNW/Points lost for me But whilst typing that I realised that the second part is probably wrong, as it would give players with a high score an extra incentive to play lower scoring players. Will check next time
I noticed my score went up loads when I won the first game in ages after losing loads against NNW, then sort of tried to guess how the rest works, it's not right though, I'll check on the next game...
I think you start at 1200, because I won my first three or four games and got up to 1426, before slipping back (temporarily ).
Yep! I've been in London for the last couple of days but I'm pretty much on weekend now, so anytime in the next few days. Got a couple of things still to do but I'll be up for it this afternoon?
