I think Wenger has done well in some respects, especially before he started spending lots of money. But now he is spending it's just showing him up. He said yesterday that the difference was that we can spend a load of money on the likes of Costa and Hazard. Well he has spent more on Ozil and Sanchez and what did they do yesterday? Ozil did his usual big game disappearing act. It's not just that we have spent on players like Costa and Hazard but balance it with the likes of Matic and Ivanovic. 2 players like that would make the world of difference but instead Wenger keeps buying midgets who can play in triangles but will never compete with the very best over a season or C.L. Every single season. When will he learn?
Anyway, not our best performance this year but tactically got it right and a couple of moments of magic won it. Very pleasing to get the win, beat a rival and keep a nice gap at the top now we have the international break. Here's hoping everyone comes back unscathed and we go again in 2 weeks .
A couple of things following on from the game: - Courtois looks to be fine after the knock he got and due to meet up with Belgium for the internationals. Great news. Wenger is not going to be punished for his push on Jose. Probably right decision as all a bit 'handbags'. I wonder if the Cahill challenge was a little bit to do with that play acting Sanchez did in the semi v Barca to get Terry sent off?? (right decision of course as you can't knee someone however innocuous). Sanchez has been schooled in the art of cheating at Barca so will fit is a right treat with the Wenger's boys.
Costa scored ^_^ with Hazard. But, I hope the injury is not serious enough!!!!!!!!!!!!! Costa will be the top scorer of Barclays Premier league Table in this season surely ;D
