You can't really compare the UK & US legal systems. In the US if you are accused & black the chances are you will be convicted (unless you have OJ Simpsons money)
What do people on here think? Did he do it? Was he fitted up or is he genuinely guilty as found to be by a jury? I can't believe it's not generated a long drawn out, repetitive, serious discussion.

It's D-Day, the court's decision will be announced today. Either the conviction will be upheld, or overturned, or a retrial will be ordered.
If he is subsequently cleared of all charges, there's going to be one hell of a loss of earnings case going through court for wrongful conviction
He'll never be found guilty in a re trial. Waste of time. The new evidence and subsequent credentials of the girl in question have been somewhat tarnished publicly.
Outcome exactly as I forecast. Unless the prosecution come up with some new evidence themselves, the CPS won't/can't support a retrial. Standard statement to 'save face' in view of the appeal courts decision.
A retrial would cost more than £1m I suggest.Also if Ched wins his retrial should it happen, the defendant legal costs are significantly much higher than £1m I suspect. If the CPS don't support it, it can't happen.
Hopefully from all of this, these so called role models can keep it in their pants. I could understand it if they were single guys and not getting any, but these guys have little crackers at home who most guys would give anything to have a remote chance of getting pulled.

only £1m in compo? reckon it'd be more than that. Wasn't he on around 30k a week at the time? 4 years out of the game @30k a week roughly £6m add on to that his legal costs and defamation costs etc. i'd expect Ched to be going after them for a massive sum
