If our club signed a convicted rapist would any of you stop going? Could you/would you applaud them scoring a goal for Hull City or making a fabulously timed tackle that stops a goal? That's all that this comes down to in the end if Ched is to go back to playing football.

To be fair, we did support Marlon King when he played for us and he'd already been convicted of theft from a person and from a car, criminal damage, attempting to obtain property by deception; fraudulent use of vehicle licence document, driving without insurance, speeding, drink driving and a wounding, all before the Soho assault incident while playing for us.

Did people stog going to Tyson fights? Did they stop cheering when he landed an uppercut? Cheer when he scored a knockdown?

No, I wouldn't stop going. I wouldn't like it but i'd cheer him on if he's got our shirt on and our clubs put their faith in him. I can understand why others wouldn't, but i'm fully against those hat don't want him in football full-stop rather than just far away from their own teams.

Yeah. Ched Evans was a pretty good striker before he went to prison, and whilst I wouldn't want him at our club because we have better strikers, I think he'll be a good player for Oldham.

Remember when we were linked with a Belgian striker called Ilombe Mboyo? He raped a 14 year old girl when he was 17, and he was convicted and went to prison. I deplore his crime but I'd still cheer him on if he did sign.

Lots of women didn't stop watching Eastenders when a convicted murderer became a heartthrob on it.
Not a great deal of consistency in these things.

A lot of ex cons who actually do rehabilitate end up working in pub/restaurant kitchens. One of the few professions open to rapists *****'s etc.
Some probably wont be going out for meals ever again then knowing a convicted rapist/***** has had their hands all over their meat n two veg.

Random question, but have you been known to have the odd pint in The Barrel in Walkington?

I have been in The Barrel on occasion, I watch the odd away on the few occasions that I don't actually go to the game and it's always nice to see Leigh Palin for an afternoon...

One of my all time favourite City players and really should have played at a higher level with the talent he had.

For all the dross that Stan Ternent brought to our club when he was manager (Tony Finnigan for one, played like he thought he was a superstar but couldn't have been further from the truth), Palin was the one real shining star on the pitch.

Sterling you optimise everything that's so wrong with so called justice in this country! What punishment he only served half and my doesn't he look as if the effect of prison has been detrimental. Don't know if you have any female friends or relatives take a look at them then ask yourself if you would feel the same if they had been raped and how they suffer as the victim SHAME ON YOU SHALLOW NARROW MINDED EXCUSE OF A MAN

Someone wrote about that in the papers yesterday. The lady columnist pointed out that when it was discovered Leslie Grantham had a murder conviction there was no Twitter mob to get him off the programme.

So.... he doesn't think that there was enough conviction to prove that he raped her. She wasn't even the one who filed the rape charge, just went along with it. As far as we know, she went back to shag some random bloke she met on a night out, and ended up shagging two different blokes on a night out. The only reason any of us know she did is because the two blokes admitted to it since she was too pissed to remember. Yes, it could've been rape, but to say with no doubt at all that he raped her (which is what they're meant to do) doesn't sit right with me.

I don't even see your point in this and your 'how would you like it' stance is ridiculous..

A perfect example of the type of hysterical, pious, morally outraged, absolute bobbins that's been floating about social media since this issue aired.
