No, mate its not arguing, just debating with you. ....take no notice of Spurlock the Stirrer!! I thought from earlier comments you thought he was good to start, but looks like we have similar views in the end, no probs if we didn't either.
Better and better. And I'm more and more convinced everyone involved knows what they're doing. AVB is there because we'll need a "better" manager to compete with the big spenders, and AVB has about as much claim to being one as any. I watched a little about Moutinho, and now I think it won't be much of a dropoff, if any, to get him and lose Modric. Modric may be a little better at getting and keeping the ball, but Moutinho will assist and score more. Of course, we still have to get Moutinho (if we do), and I still wish VDV weren't leaving.
RW & Sd Rafa's alleged statement yesterday was very muddy- "I probably will stay". Means if nobody bids he'll stay.
It was rather an odd statement, basically said he was sick of all the speculation about him and then produced the most ambiguous phrase about his future which surely only invites more speculation. I hope he stays, he's been a joy to watch for two years and seemed to be genuinely happy at Spurs until all these rumours started.
Think he is still happy but I rather think his turn of phrase was probably not the one he meant. Should have been "I'm ok to stay" and finish it there.
he is just hedging his bets..i think he would like to stay possibly..however it feels like he knows his chances may be limited under AVb..im probably way off the mark and guessing terribly.
I'm sure VDV enjoyed the freedom he had on the pitch with Redknapp, which he is unlikely to get under AVB. I rate him very highly but he is not the easiest player to fit into a team, it's only his personal skill levels that make him a player you would want. The team has to cope with him rather than the other way round IMO. Edit: I am not advocating that the team should HAVE to cope with him btw. I think he will have to conform to a team ethic more than he has before, which may not suit him.
According to this blog post (which is an interesting read btw) his current title is "Technical Co-ordinator (at the time of writing!), with many anticipating that he will be promoted to a Technical Director/Director of Football style role". So technical something anyway.
Think this is Sherwood's new position. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/tottenham-set-to-announce-tim-sherwood-1143124 Also AVB has stated that he wants Rafa to stay as he is key to his tactics. We'll see.
It does look likelier (to me, anyway) that VDV will stay now. Earlier, I thought he got Gylfi as a replacement. I've had VDV down for a while as the most problematic personality on Spurs. But I've come to appreciate he may be the best in the toughest situations. Nobody else seems as able to keep the ball under pressure and create chances as well as he does. So I'm hoping AVB can learn to be flexible enough to make the most of his abilities.
Not the same type of player, VDV's slower and less strong but is a much better passer and tracks back better.
