Just like I was too negative at the start of last season, or when NJ was appointed. …or maybe I am just more realistic
Nope, just being negative IMO. Last season the points threshold to get into the play offs was an all time low. You had two very good teams and a handful of pretty good but nothing special teams but no more than that.
Tom said our squad after the window shut last season was good enough for upper midtable so it's not a high (or low?) bar for him to consider something negative lol. I think it's basically impossible to tell at this stage how we'll do as there are too many variables. We could be 1st or 14th after 8 games and neither would surprise me tbh
That’ll do me fine. Then Plymouth away on 19th. On holiday in Bideford that week. August games should be fun in the sun, but a few seasons ago the first game was away against Burnley and it was the coldest, wettest game I’ve ever been too. Global warming eh?
Wednesday are in a bit of disarray at the moment and a lot of their fans are predicting them to go straight back down. Could just be that they are frustrated about the whole Moore sacking though.
That the 3-0 defeat? I remember that, middle of August and there was a huge thunderstorm stretching from Oxfordshire to Lancashire
Yep same. I think we need some leaders in the dressing room; if we get that we will be ok. The championship is a slog, even for good teams. For a club with a broken mentality like ours it will need to be a big culture shift. I am positive we can recover if those in charge of recruitment learn their lessons
I think that all of Stoke's games at their place, against any team, are on Tuesday nights in October. It's part of having to play them on a windswept mountain
Do loads of travelling in the first month or so. Sheffield Gillingham Plymouth Sunderland Boro Followed by Stoke Hull and Preston in October. Admittedly it's a very northern based league this year but it still seems a lot early on.
Well it’s official for me. I’ve bookmarked the bbc championship page and deleted the PL page. A new era begins.
