    As if the end of this season couldn't get any more depressing, I read that we might have to endure VAR. Yuck.

    No reason the club couldn't start selling home play off tickets this week is there? Doesn't really matter who we're playing in terms of pricing etc

    Agreed

    There is a tiny amount of uncertainty regarding the potential scheduling of the 2nd leg between 3rd and 6th, because the police have said they wouldn't want Ipswich v Norwich to be played on a Thursday night. But it's looking less and less likely that they will face each other - and even if they did, I can't see any obvious reason as to why that would impact our home game on the Friday night (eg they're hardly likely to swap the two games - the police would be against a Friday night local derby even more so).

    You just know, in the final Saints will score a last-minute winner that will be disallowed for a forelock hair being over the redline and then we'll get a chorus of 'Offside is offside' and Saints will lose on penalties.

    The opposite would be quite funny though. With most of us intensely disliking VAR, a decision given in our favour in the play offs would be fun.

    An unlikely scenario but just in case, I've prepared a sentence for people to cut and paste;

    I hate VAR but in this case I'll happily accept it.

    Aaaah but it's Saints in an important game, so I think we can all guess what way it would go....

    Finally managed to sit down and watch the highlights show. It seems mad that WBA are going into the last day without their play-off place secured, when you consider that they've been sat nicely in 5th for almost the entire season.

    Like us, they've now lost three in a row. And, even worse, their only win in their previous seven games was against Rotherham.

    I guess therefore that our ideal scenario for the last day is that they draw Preston - making it just one win in eight for WBA - and Norwich lose to Birmingham, thereby allowing to WBA to finish 5th and play us. It would be two completely out-of-form teams playing each other, but with us hopefully being able to take some solace from the fact that we have beaten them twice already.

    PS. If the above scenario was to transpire, I wouldn't mind extending it a bit further by having Ipswich finishing 3rd and facing rivals Norwich (or, alternatively, facing an in-form Hull following a thrashing of Plymouth, which is likely what they would need to do to take 6th away from Norwich).

    Ipswich winning. If it stays like this then as long as they avoid defeat on the final day then they are promoted regardless of what Leeds do

    Can't see them losing to Hudders who are essentially relegated.

    Yep well deserved imo. Their manager has been fantastic. Said that earlier in the season & a couple bashed me for it.
