I've gone over that few times and i think that he is referring to "also-rans" and "below par fodder" from the previous paragraph by saying "which means all the other teams".....??? Is that right???

Either way, he is still one hell of a spastic. The fact he was ever employed as a journalist is a damning indictment on the entire industry.

There's a lot wrong with it. The first sentence should be a continuation of the previous sentence. You'd think being an EX-journalist he would know what a conjunction is.

Celtic are currently in the fourth pot of seeds for next Thursday’s draw. That could see them pitched into a Group of Death with Real Madrid, Manchester City and Juventus.

The Hoops could yet be promoted to pot three.

If CFR Cluj oust FC Basel — they lead 2-1 from the first leg in Switzerland — they’d be seeded lower than Celts.

Celtic would then only need Panathinaikos and Anderlecht to be toppled in the play-off round to move into pot three.

As things stand ahead of next week’s second legs the four pots for the draw are as follows:

POT ONE: Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Porto, AC Milan.

POT TWO: Valencia, Benfica, Shakhtar Donetsk, Zenit St Petersburg, Schalke, Manchester City, *Sporting Braga, *Dinamo Kiev.

POT THREE: Olympiakos, Ajax, *Basel, *Panathinaikos, *Anderlecht, Juventus, *FC Copenhagen, *Spartak Moscow.

POT FOUR: Paris St Germain, Galatasaray, *CELTIC, Borussia Dortmund, *BATE Borisov, *Dinamo Zagreb, Montpellier, FC Nordsjælland.
*Teams still to qualify from play-off round.

The true value of our £15m /£20m which we will be delighted to get if we do the business next Wednesday night is that
the kick and rush merchants of the lower regions of the least skilled rich leagues in the world all get 4/5 times as much
on television and sponsorships. I even find myself agreeing with the ghost Surreal. Fletcher is not worth £3m on less
£!2 to £15m and if we had bought him four years ago, we wouldn't be getting much for him now. I agree with Mick as well
we are entering unknown times and the club needs to be careful. I would like a player or two but I won't hold my breath.

I wonder if he even makes it out the flat. Can you get to the local offie in your pish-stained PJs or does the Sterling work of Strathclyde Police force just pour it through your letterbox?

You know Helsinborg are going to pump us 3-0 at Parkhead just because you posted what pot we're going to be in <ok>

25/1 for us not to go through, true odds.

I have backed quite a few 25/1 winners in my time. No counting chickens yet ****head.

A neutral's no-brainer bet for sure ... and tempting as it may be for some greedy so-and-so, surely you would not back against your own team?

I would easily back against my own team if I thought there was a considerable margin involved in the bet - I think the 25/1 is about right in terms of probability though, the odds seem about right and there is probably almost no profit or loss to be made if I was to have the same bet 25 times over 25 similar scenarios (which is all that counts when placing a bet) - they have to score 3 goals or win on penalties which appears just as unlikely as the odds suggest.

I still feel a bit uncomfortable talking about which CL pot we are going to be in at this point though - I'm too emotionally invested to give up superstitions of scuding it <whistle>

Have you no principles man? You then talk about superstitious 'emotional investment' in respect of possible future placement - shame on you for having such a callous and obtuse view of things ... is that what comes of being involved with the gambling fraternity? :emoticon-0105-wink:

Espania Sadly Mick has already boasted a couple of weeks ago about backing against Celtic. Now what isn't clear when
he was bragging is Celtic his own team? I think the jury could be out on that. The least you woulld expect from any normal
person is that if they were betting against their own team, is they would keep quiet about.

It's hardly a boast, especially when your bet against your own team gets beat.

What I would expect from any normal person is that they pull their head out of their own arse and stop trying to making themselves out to be a bigger more dedicated fan than everyone else.
