evening all. i don't want to blow my own trumpet, but i'm going to! lol Today i did a half marathon. With my running buddy we decided to step up from last year and do 13 miles instead of 10. We did the Royal Parks Foundation half, the sun was shining, the route was gorgeous and Big Ben chimed 10am just as we ran past...i'm chuffed to bits, if not a little achy! There, trumpet blown. Resuming normal service

Nice one H. You really can't beat the walking / running events in the Royal parks in my humble opinion. Oh and, being biased towards my pet charity, good to see it was for a great cause as well!

Morning all, bright sunny morning when I could be doing outside jobs, but instead I will go and try to improve my understanding of the French language.
We had our grand daughters come over last night, and the way they have integrated into the way of life shows how starting at an early age is so much easier. At least I could have done the French homework the 9 year old had.

I am happy the snow is gone because we have just made a fire pracrice. Standing in the cold damp is not fun when there is 1C.
We have to endure them in schools here too. When the alarm rings, we have to drop everything and troop outside, no time to put on coats or jumpers regardless of what the weather is doing - then the kids have to stand around freezing their butts off and complaining until someone decrees that the drill was a success. Crazy really - especially when they are not allowed outside at break times if there is the slightest spot of rain...
Yay - just got a phone cal from our solicitor - completion has taken place and the house is ours. Gonna pop over and check it out.
We have arranged removal for Thursday
Internet, phones etc need to be set up so if there are any hitches I may be late delivering this week's prediction league table - hopefully it will go OK though

Terrific result ak ... I really rate Gylfi Sigurdsson - wanted us (Leicester City) to sign him from Spurs this summer - think Spurs were crazy not to give the lad a proper run in the team ... very good signing for Swansea ... here's hoping Iceland can stay there right through the campaign ...
