Morning all. Very grey at present, but the sun is forecast to fight its way through the cloud, but then there is the likelihood of showers this afternoon. Showers were forecast for yesterday, but never came. Instead a clear blue sky and it was very warm. The grass in the green lane that gives me access to the fields has been growing at an alarming rate, so I cut a narrow path along it just wide enough for me and a wheelbarrow, allowing all the wild flowers either side to grow as high as they wish. Unfortunately someone with a quad bike had been along there and flattened everything from the sides across my pathway. Most of it was too long to take the mower to, so the only other thing is to get the strimmer fired up and slowly clear a couple of hundred metres of broken down foliage. Quite why anyone thinks they can go for a ride around the countryside on a quad bike when a normal push bike is banned is beyond me. Moan over, have a good day one and all.
We have a lively difference of opinion at home. I always put the tea in first and add the milk.. Mme vice versa... Years ago iwas a porter at Christies.. And spent a few weeks working in the warehouse.. We had seven plus teas of builders tea per day, as the lad i couldn't say no, I ended up with real stomach problems!
Post what.? What day is it anyway? Good morning everyone. I was talking to a colleague in NZ yesterday where they have a four stage lockdown programme that all know about etc.. I must say sounds so much better over there. We lost a couple of weeks at the beginning... And lives lost.. Anyway.. Have a good day....
Morning, Dave; morning, yorkie; morning, all. No schoolwork today! I’ve been doing quadratic equations and a=mv-mu/t and FOR n in range (5,10) and 2-8-8-1 shells all week. Lie in with a western while the others sleep. Happiness is a thing called Barbara Stanwyck.
Morning all. Yesterdays showers didn't turn up, and in the afternoon the sky was totally clear of clouds. Set out to cut the grass along the lane as the strimmer leaves everything behind, then tackled the fields. It all looked a lot better when finished, but it will need doing again within a week. Risque of storms this afternoon, and it does feel very heavy. The splendid views across the valleys have largely disappeared now as you cannot see through or over the hedgerows that remarkably recovered from the mauling they had in the autumn. I must try and finish the preparation for my runner beans now so that they can get well established before the weather gets hot. At least this year all my water butts are full. Enjoy your day whatever you plan to do.
38 degrees here. Slept in, had breakfast and wife has gone back to sleep. Sloth weekend. Been married 5 years today and just realised, will pop out for a nice bottle to surprise the wife when she eventually gets up. We'd both forgotten it. Days belnd into one ATM.
Unconfirmed reports coming out of North Korea that the dictator Kim Jong-un has died after some botched heart surgery.
Morning all. A beautiful sunny Sunday (I think) morning here, just the sort of day that a visit to a pub overlooking the local cricket pitch, and listening to the sound of ball on willow would be called for. There has been speculation for many years that cricket originated in France, and there are a few pockets of the country with local leagues. Mick Jagger has a house somewhere in the Loire valley, and leads his very own team. I suppose that you could play cricket if the players agreed to keep two metres apart. There might be some gaps in the slip cordon and the umpire at the bowlers end might have to operate from behind the bowlers run up, but unlike football you could have a version of it. As for the pub, well my old village local is doing takeaway pints along with the takeaway pizza. Have a good day whatever you are dreaming about.
Afternoon all.. weather expected to turn today..... just been transplanting seedlings etc.... fingers crossed.... and found a local nursery that will deliver bedding plants Have a good afternoon
