Morning all. Bright and breezy here, but a good day for a little more gardening. Some of my friends who live to the west of here are saying that the swallows have returned, but they haven't arrived here yet. The Hoopoes however are back looking for insects that they feed on along the verges to the lanes. Sometimes as they take off you are not quite sure if you are looking at one of them, or a Jay that has similar colouring, but once airborne they have a very different flight. I am glad that the cuckoo doesn't still seem to have set up shop yet as the constant call can get very boring. So all very quiet here this morning apart from the ring-necked doves that are gently cooing. Have a good day whatever you are doing.
Gorgeous day here...... just walked out into the woods and across the fields to be handed over food from family..and mlle gives treats now the kids..... now lunch.... Later on walking simillar journey to meet other kids and pass over tadpoles from our neighbours garden for their lockdown pond project..
Morning all. Another bright sunny morning and the temperature expected to be 25°C this afternoon. The blossom on many of the woodland trees is going over now, and what I thought was another dose of hay fever is disappearing. So feeling much more lively I got stuck in to the gardening yesterday, and only when I had been sitting down for a while in the evening did a few muscles suggest that I overdid it. A nice hot soak before bed, and I am raring to go again. Have a good day whatever you can do.
Lovely day today for my birthday, probably the best day of the year so far. Cycled up to Sherrifmuir to take a look at the Atlantic Wall a WW2 training relic which has only just been "re-discovered" If you are interested http://atlanticwalls.uk/ Pottered in the garden pm then on line boardgaming so given the circumstances a very nice day although the post man only bought one card. Mrs Scullion keeps saying birthday not up to usual standard and is disappointed
Morning all. Bright and quite blowy in rural France this morning. A quick trip to the bread machine is the first task of the day. It is only 1.5 kms away so I might be tempted to go on my bike, except no bikes are allowed at present. Maximum walking distance away from your home is 1 km, so that is out. Looks as if it will have to be the car then, so I will need to print off another certificate. Chances of seeing the gendarmerie very low, but the machine is at a five way junction, so it might well be a useful place for them to hang out. I did get stopped on Tuesday as I entered town on my way to the bank. Essential service, so allowed. A nice lady gendarme who didn't have her gun strapped to her waist, noticed from my certificate that I was English, so didn't attempt a roadside chat. Two male colleagues of hers on the other side of the road were giving some lady the third degree. Might have to play the dumb Englishman when I go past them on the way back. I looked at the clock. It was midday, so of course they had disappeared for lunch. Have a good hassle free day one and all.
Oh. Thought it was Dave’s birthday. Think I wished Scully a happy brithday on another thread... Happy Birthday if I didn’t, Scully.
