If there is any good news at all about the coronavirus it is that my telephone has stopped ringing. A dozen calls minimum every day apart from Sunday with people selling goodness knows what and are a real pain in the rear. I guess that the call centres have shut down, and I haven't a call since last Thursday.
Hi OFH, have you looked into getting one of these? I was going to buy one for my Mum next time I'm over. https://www.clibase.com/
Hi Toby. I haven't seen this but it looks as though you have to feed in the numbers, upto 500, that you don't want to call. I can blacklist 50 on my phone, but it doesn't help greatly. If you look at where a call comes from you will often find that they have dozens of numbers, and if you block one, then another one is used. My method now is to not pick up the phone on the basis that if someone really wants to talk to me they will leave a message, something that the call centres don't do. I just go through the list of missed calls each evening and delete them.
Oh no, the 500 are on top of the other functions it does. You can block robocalling, hidden numbers, whitelist/blacklist prefixes, etc... It's not perfect but it would definitely help! They offer a refund scheme too if it doesn't suit your needs.
Morning all. Once again it is damp outside, but really very mild for the time of year. I have just been catching up on the French news and see that the organizers are still hoping that the Cannes film festival can go ahead in May. One year I made the mistake of going there while it was happening, and became engulfed in the massive traffic problem they have while the event is taking place. It is quite ridiculous really, with hotels for the rich and famous charging thousands of Euros a night for a room. All of the very expensive shops are there, but gazing through the window was as far as I went. Have a very good day whatever you must do.
Sleep well Dave. Can you tell me tomorrow how many goals Pukki will score Saturday before I do my predictions?
Good morning all from a cool and dry Weston-super-Mare! Have a good day I think Pukki will score a hattrick
Morning all. Wet and miserable outside again, so some more inside jobs today. Twenty years ago this house had one electricity socket in it, just the two pin sort that you could plug a table lamp into. Knowing that you can never have enough, over the years I have added the three pin types by the dozens, but now realise that some of them are not really in the best place. So my task today will be to move one double socket to a more accessible position, and install a second one so as to not have long cables running across the floor. Enjoy your day whatever tasks you have set yourself.
Afternoon all.... interesting visit to the Hospital today..... everyting seemingly carrying on as usual..... hardly any hand gel...and all located within site of staff....... Consultant referred me for tests within a month and said 'who knows what will be happening then' I was glad to leave the building and head straight for a coffee shop.... which may be more or less risky than the hospital....
For some reason, I thought we would be relatively free from the dangers of this flipping virus - living as we do in a small village on the Moray Firth coast. But apparently not - having just found out that the daughter of the owner of our village chip shop went on holiday to Venice, and chose to return just before the Italians closed their borders. She's been back working in the chip shop ever since, much to the disgust of many. It calls into question the government's plan for people to be responsible enough to self-isolate for a fortnight - and may well see the whole village self-isolating from the chip shop for a lot longer period.
Hope all are well given the circumstances. I wonder if all games will be called off. They should be IMHO and then the league could start up again when 7 if things get back to normal. Take care y'all.
