Morning all from a hot and humid Weston-super-Mare! Have a good day! Dan, I'm so tired by 9.00 pm that I would not enjoy the game anyway! Any games I want to see, I record them then watch at my leisure!
You wont miss anything Dave. It is a shame that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is out, he may of made the difference.
Afternoon from a damp and muggy Bandit Country - absolutely hammered it down in the night. Was going to have a BBQ this afternoon and then head to my local to watch the game - seems half of Bandit Country will be there, even my 2 sons will be there, so it will be lively! Little Miss W_Y has arrived in Bangkok and settled in her hotel!
We at Norwich have an admirer! http://roblufc.org/2014/06/13/falle...rs-surround-leeds-mccormack-by-rob-atkinson/?
I see they still suffer from 'wereabiggerclubthanyou' syndrome then. Even though performances suggest otherwise....
Leeds is quite a sad club really - Leeds is one of the largest cities in England yet their football history is dire. They had one period between 1964 and 1974 under one manager - Don Revie - when they punched their weight. Outside that period they had one good year in 1992 before nearly being relegated the next year. Their fans still think they are comparable to Liverpool yet in reality they do not feature anywhere near the top ten English clubs. At least the likes of small clubs like Watford and Norwich know we are small and appreciate whatever success we do manage from time to time
I do not think in terms of Norwich as a "small club". I walked around the pitch at Carrow Road during the summer after they had been relegated from the Championship, gazing at the (relatively large) stands and thinking that Watford could aspire to having as good a ground in a few years time. With the new Community Stand opened (some time) next season, I would hope that we shake off the "small club" tag - that's for our neighbours up the motorway to wear!
Nice fans as well - a few times I've walked back to the met line station after a match with a few of them and had a decent chat. It's always been one of my favourite away days too - never any trouble whatsoever.
Sorry - I meant to say small town club - clubs with a fairly low natural catchment area and population of the town they are in
It is quite interesting to look at the one club cities though. The 2 obvious examples are Leeds and Newcastle - it shows that just because you are pretty much guaranteed a very big fan base it doesn't guarantee success. Sorry Leonardo - should have added that this was building on your original point.
OK you lovely people, I'm off to bed! Wonder if I can watch the match tomorrow before reading the score? Night all Night H
"For those of you just coming in we won't tell you the result of that amzing match but let's have another look at Italy's dramatic winner"
Could be 7-6 to Italy I suppose - that would indeed be amazing (that England could score 6 that is).......
And here was me thinking that Farsley were based in Leeds - giving the city two teams of equal standing....
Morning Dave England played some good stuff and were a bit unlucky to lose Think I will call it a day now
Good morning all from an overcast but humid Weston-super-Mare! Thanks for the spoiler Andy! Have a good day!
