Morning all. Grey with a light drizzle in the air, but mild. Today is our wedding anniversary. Moved away from living in the Watford area 55 years ago, but have never lost my love for the football club. My visits to the Vic reduced, and away days disappeared all together, but it was worth it all to stay together for so long. My French neighbour married the same year as us when she was just sixteen and still seems to think her husband is moderately ok. I do not ask if Mme has the same view. Enjoy your day, we will be eating out later.
Morning all. Damp again today, but that is fine as my water stocks will recover a little more. 16 year old granddaughter has a new English friend at college who she is trying the help as much as possible. The parents of the girl have had to relocate their business here, and the girl is now in the exam years of the education system, without speaking French. This is not a good time for the girl. My three granddaughters started schooling when they moved over, and the youngest who had not started school in England is the one who thinks in French, rather than translating what she hears. Grandson in UK starting his trainee spy course, but he or I cannot speak about that. Think it is restock cellar day today. Enjoy your day whatever is in store for you.
Thinking in the language is the way to go... however limited... it really does grow.... Very wet walk today above Pateley Bridge round an old victorian reservoir...... drying off now
Morning all. Sunshine and showers seems to be the order of the day. My local football team finally achieved the first win of the season last night away at le Havre. Quite unexpected as it was very much a top v bottom clash. Le Havre are one of the larger clubs, with a 25,000 capacity Stade Océane proper football stadium as opposed to some teams that play in a sports centre. The referee was the worst I have seen since last Friday. In what was a game without any malice, he somehow spent most of the game issuing cards. The only thing you could say in his favour was that his ineptitude was even handed. Enjoy your day, and may we get our first win of the season in the PL.
Bonjour... was going through Switzerland when I should've been posting the predictions, then fell asleep.... just left some godawful services... on A36 / La Comtoise with another 460km to the hotel. TBH I can't wait to get back to Blighty and Mrs Fez' home cooking.
Morning all. Bright and breezy at present, but showers forecast for this afternoon. I was going to burn up the stuff that I cannot compost, but although it is now damped down enough it will have to wait as the wind could cause an outbreak of fire if sparks fly. I still have plenty to do as there is a big heap of branches that need logging in preparation for the winter. I gathered a lot of information from my neighbour about seasonal working. He had a log store all prepared for the wood burner ready for whatever the weather threw at him. I don't think he ventured out one bad winter we had, relying on his logs for heat, and the food store he had built up over the summer and autumn. Enjoy your day whatever you are planning to do.
