Good morning, Dave; morning, all. :)

Wishing you well today, Dave. <ok>

We’re on a Wembley Tour that Matej had for Christmas. There will be three golden shirts climbing the famous steps today, boys and girls. :1980_boogie_down:

Morning all. Sunshine and showers seem to be in store for us today, with maybe a storm this afternoon. Daughter arrived back in France at 9.15 am and will be heading south for the next seven hours. At least with her back home the rabbits can go to their normal quarters, our garden can be rearranged to allow outside tables and chairs, and I will only have my own watering to look after. Hope that the Wembley tour is great. <ok>

Well that was a waste of time!

Got to Southmead where they checked my bloods and discovered my Hb was back down to 56 <yikes>

Won't do the op until my bloods have been thoroughly investigated :)

Oh dear Dave. Mme had a low count, not that low, and the doctor said she needed to eat more red meat. She did as she was told, and the blood test a week ago was much better. Hope that it is as simple as that for you. <ok>

I have just heard from Southmead, I'm being admitted to Weston Hospital for more blood via transfusion and investigation into the cause.

Not sure when I'll be back on here!

Hope the boys who went to Wembley today enjoyed it.

Daughter back from England and had noticed that the large economic packs of things she buys in the supermarkets are no longer available. Only the small more expensive per kg are now on the shelves, and she went to all of the supermarkets to try and find them. There are very few things we buy these days over there as we can live quite happily with what we buy here, but there are a few things that are just not sold here, as in the same way some things that we like are not available in England. She went into a town centre car park that she had used six months ago and found that the charge to park had doubled. It is little wonder that the town centre shops are suffering so badly when people use the free out of town parking. A real rethink needs to take place if town centres are to stay alive.

Thanks, ofh, we had a great time. Didn’t realise the ‘Arch’ serves a practical purpose - it holds the roof up! I thought is was for aesthetic reasons, a crappy ‘replacement’ for the twin towers. It gained my respect from today! We took photos of the boys by Welbeck’s shirt in the England changing room, and Rose’s (just in case things work out that way in January!). The crossbar from 1966 is there, which was great to see, and the story of Watkins’ tower and what happened to it, was new to me. That was fascinating. Also, bizarrely for me, I took the time to work out where I’ve sat over the years. I think, with the exception of the ‘87 Cup final, I’ve always been at the same end of the ground.

In terms of the latter part of your post, I question the necessity for the prefix ‘re’ in your use of ‘rethink’. ;)
Short-termism, the ignoring of indirect costs and revenue, have ruled for years under Tories.

Morning all. Glad that you have been released Dave. It is always more comfortable in your own bed. With all that iron just stay away from magnets. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Our resident vole has started to come into the house rather than staying outside. One of the problems when you have doors and windows open all day. We started by trying to chase him/her out, but failed, so now just wait until boredom takes over and it departs the same way it came in.

Enjoy your day whatever you will be doing. <ok>

Politics is creeping back into posts, can we now enjoy the new poll reflecting the majority prefer to leave the EU under any terms.?

A rather late good morning, I slept like a baby!

So, on arrival at Southmead, they checked my bloods and said my haemoglobin was down to 56<yikes>

They said they could proceed with my op but it would be safer to delay until my bloods were sorted and the cause investigated.

My transport home arrived and I was told that I was free to go. When almost back in Weston, my phone rang and it was the surgeon saying I shouldn't have left as he wanted to admit me to sort everything out and he would ring me back.

He rang again when I'd been home a few minutes and said an emergency team of doctors were waiting for me at Weston A & E.

I got to Weston and booked in, about 45 minutes later I was called in to the Triage nurse who took my details and said that an emergency team of doctors were prepared for my arrival.

About 40 minutes later I was called into another room where another nurse took my temperature and bp and about six vials of blood.

30 minutes later I'm called into the medical assessment area, put in a wheelchair and wheeled to the "transition" area, basically a corridor.

90 minutes later, a young lady doctor arrived and said she didn't understand what Southmead were talking about as my haemoglobin was 72 which although still low, was nothing like 56.

She said she and her colleagues were deciding what course of action they would take and apologised for the long delay.

Another 90 minutes passed and she reappeared with a couple of options, I could either stay overnight and receive an iron infusion the next day or wait for the infusion to be sent from Bristol, the infusion would take 30 minutes then I could go home with a follow up a few days later.

I chose the second option andstarted waiting for the infusion to arrive.

2245 it finally arrived, then had to be prepared which took half an hour!

The infusion took an hour, rather than the half hour I had been told, then unhooking me and removing the cannula and phoning for a taxi meant I didn't get home until 0055 <yikes>

I'm hoping for a better day today and I'm wishing you all a very good day <ok>

Well I am not surprised that you slept so well after a day like that. My daughter tells me quite often how different departments within a hospital cannot communicate with each other, and the only way to get something sorted out that makes sense is to walk from one end of the building to the other end and speak to someone with a bit of authority. Clearly having two hospitals involved makes matters worse. Let us hope that when you go back someone will have sorted out what is the best treatment for you. Take it steady, and think about what it would be like for the Canaries to be in the PL. They are! No one told me. :emoticon-0112-wonde
