They are checking you are the right one so they dont opp on the wrong person ,and you wake up and ask "Were is my leg i only had an in grown toe nail"
Morning all. Bright and breezy here today. Son in-law has been splitting the logs that he produced when he lopped my tall ash trees. He will go home at the end of the week and leave me with nothing to do.
Well a sunny day here. Just been down the new supermarket and a nice guy filleted three small hake for me. I say small but 1.5 kilos each one. The skill of the guy is incredible. Anyway all set for Delia's shallow fry fish and chips. (Didn't mention that to be nice to Dave. The Canary Chick sure knows how fish and chips at home should be done). When you give Spaniards real food they do appreciate it Anyway lunch will be 3 pm here so a bit of flamenco (and I'm working on "Old Friends") guitar pratice mixed with a bit of siesta and I should be all set for the game. C'mon u' orns
I went to my friend's mother's funeral this afternoon. She and her two children were avid Arsenal fans and the dad is a massive Spurs fan. We were all instructed to wear red if we were happy to - he had on a half and half Arsenal / Spurs scarf. Probably the only time it's socially acceptable to wear one! Whilst it was a lovely service and befitting of an 84 year old lady who led a very full and varied life, it struck me that there will soon be a time when the soundtrack at cremations won't be the likes of Louis Armstrong and Dame Vera Lynn. All part of getting older I guess though I hope I won't be around when the popular songs of choice are Westlife or Coldplay...
Morning all. Temperatures stuck around 0°C at present, and with a wind it feels cold. Out to dinner at the daughter's house today, and a visit to the vet this afternoon to get the dog fit to return to the UK. Have a good day whatever you have planned.
Morning all. A cold and frosty morning, but then it is past four o'clock to quote the old rhyme. The last two of the visitors depart this morning along with a very large dog. It is going to be very quiet here, but warm seeing the size of the log pile that my son-in-law has prepared for us. He is also taking back the defunct chainsaw that I no longer use, convinced he will get it going again. At least with the size of the dog in the car no border force official wants to have a dig around to see what they have inside.
Mornin' Dave. Mornin' all Well cold day for us. Must be down to 8C. I know how sorry you will feel for us I'm guessing no football streams this weekend so hope Watford sale through using a second 11. And hope the Canaries lose to an awful penalty decision - much better out the cup. I want my beer. Anyways here tomorrow is Los Reyes (The Kings) but with MIL immobile I guess we'll miss the parades this year. But there is still Roscon (a polo shaped cream filled cake with things hidden in it - a bit like sixpences in Christmas puds). That reminds me still have 2 christmas puds, and more arriving next week as I couldn't resist the sale prices. Well wishing all a Happy Reyes and a great weekend. (Are the resolutions still intact??? I've managed to practice guitar every day - and four days of a resolution is pretty good for weak willed me )
The Canaries v Pompey is a difficult one to call, both are involved in promotion challenges and would be better off concentrating on that.
Morning all. Another frosty start to the day, and the maximum temperature not expected to rise above 3°C. All very quiet here now all of the visitors are back in England. Daughter phoned to say they were back, but after a fortnight away noticed just how congested the roads are there compared to here. As in Spain this weekend is seen as another chance to eat more with specialities. These take the form of a pastry topped with marzipan, and there will be a small figure hidden in it. Whoever gets the slice with the figure is the King for the day.
Well it looks like there may be streams so C'mon 'u Canaries. I've changed my mind. Canaries thrash Portsmouth and draw the 'orns in the next round.
