Sent the family out for a long walk with the dogs. I suggested a route along the green lanes. If they miss a turning I might not see them for some considerable time.
My 18 year old grandson has discovered the joys of Old Speckled Hen. Not fair since my son in law brought a supply over for me. I will hide my supply of Corsican beer I brought back from my holiday.
Morning's Dave and all. Xmas dinner tonight so I 'll put the 6 kilo turkey in at 3pm. Here in Spain they eat late. And this morning i'll try to sort out an error on my family tree. Last week someone sent me details of GT GT GT grandad 1760 but the researcher got it wrong. But new christening certs they found may still have the answer. Here ... Who knows. Still pitch black but can say it isn't raining. Feliz navidad one and all.
Morning all, back from the fields, and as expected my sprouts will not be ready for tomorrow. Son in law is being entrusted with my chainsaw to remove an Ash tree that has to go while I go in search of even more bread and salad. Have a good day whatever you have to do.
Merry Christmas all. may Santa be kind to you We seem well organised this year with everything done! Shopping stopped on Friday, although we have enough food to last until 2020 - there is only 2 of us! Mme is making a 2nd Christmas Cake now, she says it is hers as she has already made mine but if I eat it quickly I might get some of hers, they are both fruit cakes not sure of the logic except that mine is covered in marzipan and icing and Mms's is not. Watford decorations are on the tree (a previous present from Mme) which we put up yesterday, we never put up decoration early. Yesterday morning Mme decided that we should get a real tree so off we went in search of the holy grail, we found one at our favourite garden centre, bit of a Hobson's choice but it actually looks fine and it was half price plus a £5 voucher to spend in the centre next year. The "Made in China" tree is in the other front window now so we are a 2 Christmas Tree house.
Seasons Greeting and best wished in the New Year for all fellow Hornets May the fourth be with us sometime soon
My late dad often began Christmas Day by singing " 'Twas Christmas Day in the workhouse, The Day in all the year, When hearts were full of gladness, And bellies full of beer!" Have a good day tomorrow, one and all.
Joyeux Noel to everyone who might chance to find their way here. Special thoughts are with those who will spend the time on their own.
