I see that the Boris water cannons bought for £320,000 have been sold for scrap value of £11,025. That is a real shame as I was saving up to buy one. I could have saved lots of time watering my fields.

Morning all. Spent time yesterday evening moving pots inside and wrapping up some of the more tender, but large shrubs in their fleece. Result, no frost. Still the forecasters say tonight will be a cold one, so the job is done.

Morning all. The predicted heavy frost did arrive overnight, and everywhere is sparkling as the sun shines down from a clear blue sky. As your drive around you see many plants wrapped up in protective fleece, and at dusk they appear to be ghostly figures. My neighbour has an industrial sized boiler for their heating, and it has been working overtime this morning. Still it is due to warm up a little during the day, already the frost is starting to melt.
