Morning all, overcast, cooler, but still dry. A little rain was forecast, but hasn't arrived. Looks as if the watering can is going to be put to work again today. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

    Morning, Dave; morning, all. :)

A long old drive today. If you don’t mind, could you stay off the A1M, M25 and M4 this morning? Every little helps, as various overpaid voiceover artists tell us.

Morning all, another bright sunny morning. We did have a 10 minute shower yesterday, but all sign of moisture vanished after 5 minutes. I was erecting the canopy that fits onto my friends caravan yesterday morning which took me back many years to the days when I would be knocking in tent pegs. At least they are using thin metal ones these days rather than the old wooden ones.
Enjoy your holiday andy. I hope the weather is kind to you. <ok>

The best pegs on the market today are those metal ones you drill into the ground, makes life much easier when visiting areas with hard dry ground.

The cucumber production line is still in full swing. Thankfully my neighbours seem to have a never ending line of relatives turning up to be fed, so I am supplier in chief for many a cucumber and tomato salad.

I remember sitting in my Dad’s company Morris Marina in the rain, as my wet-through parents, for seemingly hours, would be calling to each other things like:
    “I need a Green 2!”
    “This it?”
“No! That’s an end piece! That goes at the end. I didn’t ask for a Green 2 end-piece, I just asked for a Green 2.”
    “That’s not green, that’s blue!”
“Well, a Blue 2 ordinary piece, then!”

  11. And your mum having to map read <doh> I'm still convinced that was a strong contributory factor in my parents divorce - the new model obviously knew more about contours than my mother...

I was explaining that to the boys. We got a little lost close to our destination today. Despite our TomTom. But the boys couldn’t understand the concept of being lost in the ‘olden days’. I told them that we wouldn’t know what road we were on, which direction we were facing (until you got used to navigating using the sun) and you were constantly looking out the windows for clues.

  13. <laugh> "Oh yeah - that hill was three miles back but I wasn't sure it was the right one". In fairness we were in the Lake District...

Off out to introduce my English friend to some local micro brewery beers. When in Dorset I never know what is the right ale to try, so rely on his judgement. They can be very good one day and awful the next. I will see how he gets on with some of my suggestions. :emoticon-0100-smile

  15. Sounds a fun night :) Enjoy! I am teaching my 7 year old niece French by putting the French words into pictures of objects and she's loving it as am I. I am assuming it will be more effective than learning that Mr Brown is in the garden and the monkey is in the tree. I honestly thought everyone in France had a monkey as a pet!

Dave hope you sleep well with no dreams of the canaries. But there is still a long way to go.

At least Preston came unstruck at Swansea so hopefully a midweek win and the train back on the track. <cheers>

KC, I'm not worried by our results, we're playing a lot better than last season. The results will come. <cheers>

Morning all. Dry and a nice temperature currently, but expected to get up into the 30°C s this afternoon. Sunday dinner out with the regulars, plus visitors. It will be a fairly busy time at the restaurant because we have been asked to pre-order, so I already know what I will be eating. What a shame that football matches no longer all start at 3.00 pm on a Saturday. Have a good day Hornets. <ok>
