I have nothing but good to say about the NHS in England - but I can tell you Wales is another country - third world best describes its NHS. France though is possibly the best in the world by all accounts.
JT offering your observations doesn't politicise anything. And at the end of the day almost every topic ends up in some minor way being political. But here we do much less and much more And of course being brits we discuss the weather
Buenos dias a todos. Still raining here, it is lushhhhhhhh. Off to the countryside for the weekend, so will miss México's and England's first games and the others to boot. However, I need to recharge and escape to the hills.
Good morning all from a warm and dry Weston-super-Mare although rain is promised for much of the day! Have a good day!
Morning all, a bright and warm day in rural France. I picked the first of my Loganberries yesterday. They are large, dark red and ripe as I had netted them to make sure that I had as many as the birds. Still lots to come, so might find the recipe for Loganberry jam.
Good morning all. A close friend of mine is undergoing treatment for Myelodisplastic Syndrome under the NHS. Three courses of intensive chemo and a stem cell transplant. He's gone from at best a bit "meh" about the NHS to a proper appreciation of what we pay our taxes for. So far so good in terms of response to treatment. In other news. ... oh look - football!
My gooseberries, blackcurrant etc are under netting in a vain attempt to keep the birds at bay - how do they get inside it though?
Sleep well Canary Dave. I will be going soon as I'm half way through a serial killer detective based in Anglesey. Gripping and I can't wait to find out who did it.
Morning all, rather cloudy at this moment, but we have been promised that the sun will break through later. That Sunday has come round again when I am off for a long lunch. We have rather settled on one restaurant where we can eat outside at this time of year, and the menu choices are good and varied. The problem is to make up your mind which of the choices to go for. The owners reward us with the house wine free of charge. Nothing special, but quite drinkable. Whatever you have planned for the day, I hope it goes well.
OFH - o for the sunday lunch. Nothing like it when you can relax after. But as you say deciding. My dad was easy, a home cooked pie. My mum the salmon or plaice. The wife vegetarian (in our favourite hampshire pub limited to 4 home mades so not too difficult. Me, I'd look at the menu for ages. Then if lamb was an option I'd normally end up there. Especially when accompanied with Jersey Royals, petit pois and roasted parsnip You're a cruel man getting me thinking about that Here bright sun and weather is back to normal. May well, after a salad, go for a swim this afternoon. But before that a load of English teaching materials to prepare. Good thing is new student is better at reading/writing so we will mainly practise dialogues and monologues over the summer. And I get to choose the subjects. I hope she enjoys "The life and times of a Watford Supporter" Enjoy
No Leo, she has promised to use the Karcher on me in the garden instead of the usual care. I'm asking Theresa May to allow some young attractive Spanish nurses in to look after me properly.!!!! Have a great day all fathers.
