I have paid McAfee and free AVG...... McAfee seems a waste of time as it just tells me that my free AVG has done its work incidentally I had to download a completely new free version of avg and decline the seemingly manadatory upgrade on avg recently

I got a new laptop a couple of months ago, and since I've had it, apart from a couple of occasions, I only get sound when I try and watch videos on it. I've checked various websites, so it's not limited to You Tube. Anyone got any suggestions?

When you play something on YouTube, check the actual sound controls that appear on YouTube, sometimes they are set to disable the internal speaker. As it's new, I very much doubt it's a hardware problem.

But she sent me a text at 06.00 telling me her arm is sore after her Hep B jab this week - she is off backpacking in Thailand for 3 weeks at the end of June

If you cannot see the actual video content it might be a control setting in your browser that is blocking the content - remove all the security setting and controls and try again. If it works gradually out them back until it stops again and it may tell you what is blocking it.
