Sadly not Andy, because the cancer is so aggressive he would like to operate ASAP, but because of the pulmonary embolism I would not survive the operation. I have to try and shake off the embolism and delay the operation for three months but he is afraid that by then it will have spread and be untreatable :(

I’m sorry, Dave. As everyone says here, you’re one of us through and through. My boys both look out for the Norwich score because of you, Matej learned all your fixtures by heart and young Seb can often be found reading up on the BBC Norwich page. Keep battling, our dear friend. <hug>

Dave this has got to stop. You're forecast to be 2 degrees warmer than us on Sunday. When I went to Weston as a kid I just remember being sand blasted on the beach and wearing jumpers. And here in Cadiz it was "will factor 50 be enough?". If this is what global warming means it can stop it right now :emoticon-0132-envy:

Last year I had 120 olives. I picked them black. Processed them as the locals. They tasted horrible. I threw them away

This year I have about 20. I'm going to pick them green. I'm hoping like grapes the fewer you get the better the end product.

Well enjoy one and all whatever you are going to get up to <cheers>

Morning all, today I am getting sun blasted as I fill the gaps between my paving slabs. After the pressure washing they looked much cleaner but not as good as I hoped for. However having filled the gaps it looks much better. I now have to fill the weights that hold my parasol up, then our new garden furniture can be put to use. :emoticon-0157-sun:
Heavy rain forecast for this afternoon.:emoticon-0101-sadsm

Mornin' Dave, mornin' all. Sunny morning here so been catching up on my pet science subjects.

Anyone noticed the recent discoveries on Mars? Especially the Methane being seasonal?

Sadly, it is not proof that life existed on Mars long ago :( But it does greatly increase the odds:cool:. The most supported theory that the methane came from asteroids is now not an option and the source must be on or in the planet. And methane on earth invariably means life. So maybe it will turn out we are Martians after all

And just as they make the discovery the Trace Gas Orbiter arrives at Mars and should be able to identify where the methane reaches the surface. Timely or what.

I’m not a qualified biologist and much of this stuff is beyond me but I find Abiogenisis and the search for life (unlikely to be little green men ;)) fascinating.

A few years ago I thought we would create life in a lab (and those guys are moving forward at a rate) before we found other life in the universe. And I thought it would happen many years in the future. But now I’m backing the space guys (and the guys looking for other life on earth).

It seems new knowledge appears every month at the moment. Exciting times <cheers>

But enough time spent. One more cup of tea and got to get things done.

Morning all. I woke up to a thunderstorm but it has now settled down to being just wet and windy.

Dave, like everyone else on here, I wish you all the best.

Morning all, a lovely morning and Mme has found me another job. More vine eyes need fixing into a wall with strong wires between them for her to tie a favourite rose to. I have used all of the previous supplies, so will have to go to the local builders merchant and see what they have. This place is nothing like a B&Q store with everything on view, but set in an old barn with swallows flying around you head as you search. They actually have a great range of things in there, but to find them is difficult.

Dave, good luck. Enjoy what you have and don't worry about it. The body is not a temple it is an amusement park. ;)

Hot as hell here, Tlaloc STILL isn't showing.
