Started on my gardening at the furthest point from the house in sunshine, but after an hour or so down came the rain. I took shelter in my shed until it stopped, then made a run for home. (Lindisfarne 1978). Halfway back it started again. I am fairly wet.
Whilst washing the car this morning I was treated to a flypast from the Avro Lancaster, what is it that a mid fifties guy still gets goose bumps at the sound of Merlin engines? such a magical sound even if it has such deep meanings.
A couple of Spitfires have been flying around here the last few days. They are often here at this time of year.
So a month now before the World Cup begins. No worries about being home for a game that could be on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Can I find a stream? Not that worried, I will take what comes. Rather doubt that I will make a special effort to watch Egypt play Uruguay. It might be raining of course.
End of the season and feel like I need some down time from football. Have a goodun all and see you soon!
Morning all, wet and not so warm here. Gardening on hold. Received the pictures of my daughter's wedding on the computer this morning. Dreadful when you are caught in a moment in time without knowing that someone is there with a camera.
Morning all, it has stopped raining for now, and the temperature should climb to near normal over the next few days. Went into the bank yesterday to try and find out why my debit card ceased to work. They have as much idea why as I do. The only suggestion was that the chip has become scrambled, but how, no idea. Need to wait a week to get a new card, which I hope will work. Using money is a pain when you have to go and get it.
Lovely and sunny here. Sadly no merlins to be heard. Couple of fighters, some trsansports and several different helicopters out of the NATO base at Rota break the bird song every now and again. On the club I'm hoping no news is good news. To retain Garcia is a no brainer so how a delay helps I cannot guess. Can't believe Garcia is causing contract issues. He wants to stay and has made that very clear. Well tax admin today but I'll wander down to the shops and get a nice bottle of red to make "Tinto Verano". Red, fizzy spring water/lemonade, fresh lemons (handed over the wall by our neighbour yesterday), mint leaf and ice. Perfect patio drink. Enjoy all and hope you get a share of this weather.
Morning all from a part of the country that has hazy sunshine, but is dry for now. Yesterday afternoon I was cutting some hazel for new runner bean poles, and ventured into a part of the field that I leave uncultivated for the wildlife. With a bit of an alarmed twitter a small bird flew past, and then I spotted why. A tiny nest with four eggs in it built into the forks of some cow parsley. It really was a feat of engineering, and we think we are clever when we have hands that we can use to build things.
