Boars are a problem causing accidents on the roads, many fatal. I have seen them around here, but my problem is deer. Unless I put up 8' high fences around my fields, way too expensive, I cannot keep them at bay. I have a series of smaller areas around my vegetables that I fence off.

Had my eye test earlier. My eyesight has worsened a great deal in the 2 years since my last test, I have allergic conjunctivitis, so have to take eyedrops 4 times a day for the next 3 weeks and because my left eye has had a growth spurt (apparently, they grow throughout our lives) the gap behind the retina is smaller than I should be. My optician has written a letter to my GP requesting that I be referred to an ophthalmologist at the hospital to see if I need to have a chamber lasered as that gap is needed for letting your eyes water.

Afternoon all, had a long old day today, up since 2am here sorting fam issues out on the blower to various parties, guess as I am so far away I am the ref. FFS. Then called into work after going to "bed" at 6am. Never usually works Sats. At least Watford didn´t lose today! hahahaha

Just got back home and seen the results. Does that mean we are safe now?

Need to chill out now and feet up tomorrow.

Good morning all from a cool and dry and rather painful Weston-super-Mare. My bedroom light popped when I got up this morning, I grabbed a new bulb from my kitchen, stood on the bed, removed the dead bulb and promptly fell off the bed, smahed the new bulb and landed on it <steam>

I hope you all have a better day than me! <ok>

Good day all. Raining again, and not really back into my usual routine yet. Catching up with my mail. Looks as if there are some bills I will have to pay. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Morning all. Damp and not very warm here. Sunshine and showers forecast, but so far the sun has been missing. Need to do a bit of shopping today as tomorrow is the first public holiday of the month. No doubt the supermarket will be heaving.

Morning all. A bright and sunny May Day, or as it is known here La fête du Travail. Certainly all of the May blossom is out creating great swathes of white in the hedgerows. May arriving starts in earnest many outside events, one of the most popular getting together with a group of friends or neighbours and going for a walk. This tends not to be a gentle stroll through the lanes and fields, but something more akin to a route march. I started one that turned out to be 26 kms long, yet was due to finish in 3 hours for lunch. I think I will have a more solitary time attacking the grass down my green lane with the strimmer. :emoticon-0100-smile

I had an eye test when I was in the UK. Better option than in France as they do not have the same degree of checks. "Have you noticed any change over the last twelve months" was the first question. I didn't think I had noticed any change, and after a thorough check was told that I still would pass a driving test with ease, without the need for glasses. It is easy to think you are in the pink, but always nice to have it confirmed. I hope they can sort you out Barry. <ok>

Really am feeling pleased tonight. All of the knee high grass has been chopped, including my commune stretches . It has been a lovely day to be outside, even if I now ache in places I forgot about. Now I need to run the mower over it and tidy everything up. Sowed a couple of rows of peas to replace the ones that have disappeared. No idea what happened the the first lot.
Tomorrow morning I have to visit the garage. Front brakes need new pads, and when I tried to describe the problem I could not remember the French for them. My trip to the UK added 2,500 kms to the distance my car has travelled, sorry cologne, and there was not a problem when I left here. Must have something to do with all the stopping and slowing down I did.
A couple more glasses of the red stuff, a hot bath, and I will be ready to go again tomorrow I hope.:emoticon-0100-smile
