Morning all. Yesterday we had a cloudless blue sky all day, but it has changed overnight and is now overcast with a few showers forecast. Mme is busy doing her bit for the annual fund raising meal that her club put on. The idea is to make some Euros that they can pass on to the large charity a bit like Children in Need. I think it best if I keep out of her way.
Morning, Dave; morning, all. Yesterday was interesting. I share my workplace with two of Jack Wilshere’s cousins.
Morning all. A little rain overnight with sunshine and showers forecast throughout the day. I normally like to go on holiday towards the middle/end of May, but with my daughters wedding coming up, decided to wait until September. We wanted to visit a further area of Corsica that we have never managed to explore previously, but much of the accommodation is already fully booked. The very expensive hotels still have room, but I like to find out of the way places where you can get to know a little about the area and people. Think I have found a gite in the hills, but near enough to the coast to have a varied time.
It is my birthday today. As if I were not aware anyway it shows how age creeps up on you. I needed to replace a fence in the garden and have only managed a single panel & fence post - every day for the last week (mind you the weather has not helped). But muscle ache does not begin to describe it. Ten years ago I put up a fence of about 8 panels in a day !!!!
Happy birthday, Arturo. Our youth goes we don't quite know whence We feel we've acquired much more sense Yet stuff we once did We'd now gladly be rid Like having to fashion a fence
Thanks all. - the last panel is half in - but that is the problem - I had to cut a panel down and attach battens and it only just fits. I will take a rest then resume. Oddly doing this sort of work is very satisfying if a little more of a strain than once upon a time
Hasta manana Dave. Must admit enjoying the Man U Sevilla game. Man U getting stronger but in danger of conceding an away goal and then needing 2. Log fire burning but we only have enough logs for one more night but the forecast is offering sevaral more chilly nights.
Morning all from a beautiful part of the country. The cherry blossom is out and I notice that it will not be long before the pear tree is also flowering. Lots of colour from the Spring bulbs, and with a blue sky everything is looking good. The weeds are also making far too much growth, and there is still a lot of dead foliage from last year to be cleared.
I'm envious OFH. Down in deep SW Spain we do not get traditional seasons. For example this morning we were dead heading the magaritas and osteospermums that have been flowering for weeks. Several roses have had their first flush and are resting. The good news is that my lime has never had so much blossom and the irises and roses are all growing very strongly. But whatever the garden always calls for something to be done so stop watching football OFH and get out there
