Morning all from a sunny but chilly bandit country - it was -1C and I had to scrape the frost from the car to take Little Miss W_Y to the station.

Yes, Leo in French terms of distance not too far away. Villages do tend to have names that are similar and if you rely on SatNavs you can come unstuck. We have two villages here with the same name that are in different regions yet only a mile apart. The signs have the name plus the department number on them to help or confuse you find the right one.

Now off to put up the bird scarer and cut down the long grass along the lane before the game.

Just watched the A-League Grand Final - Brisbane vs West Sydney Wanderers. If anyone gets the chance to watch the highlights, do so - possibly not as high a standard as that played in the Championship, but the organisation, commitment and fitness of both teams is what we lack at the moment. A pulsating game, went to extra time & finally won 2-1 by Brisbane - all three goals were crackers. Both sets of fans - all 51,000 of them - created a brilliant atmosphere.

Morning all from a bright and sunny Bandit Country. Got a few jobs to do and then going for a drive over towards Sandy - I am doing some research into the village that my old mum was evacuated to in WW2 and need to visit the graveyard to check out some names.Amazing thing the internet, in my research I have found a website that has loads of old photos of people from this village and there is a photo of a group of evacuee girls from 1944 playing rounders and I am sure one of them is my mum!

They're not. Out of eight next year, five are on a Monday, two are on a Friday and one is on a Thursday - and the Boxing Day holiday is only on a Monday because Christmas Day falls on the previous Friday.

Could the Pozzos have rather more on their minds than WFC this week with Granada being just 2 points above the relegation zone?
