im sure if he had the work permit then it would have been announced it would be great if he has .But we are Watford and we dont do well with WP
Looks like this could be a good season for Luton - or a bad one for Yeovil. After scoring first, Yeovil now losing 7-2.
Second half chances went missing and it finished 0-0 at the Vic. I don't think there is much doubt that we need more firepower up front.
Brian, the club put on a great occasion for Graham, football not much but wonderful to see many of the old players at half time. We looked very lightweight up front especially in the first half. I don't think my Liverpool supporting grandson is very worried about next week.
This doesn't bode well - it was only supposed to take 48 hours from Wednesday. http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co....-work-permit/story-30470463-detail/story.html
Well, we had the celebration of Graham's life last season and they rather messed up with this occasion over dates, opponents etc. On the positives we filled two sides and John Motson helped to make it a special occasion. There was also the special game at Villa last week. If they had organised it properly to play Villa at the Vic it probably would have been a sell out. There were some tears shed.
Morning all from rural France where we have clear blue skies and a gentle breeze. I noticed yesterday that there are now a lot of blackberries in the hedgerows that are ripe. Not quite as large as some years because of the lack of rain, but certainly big enough to make a decent crumble with. I will take my punnets out and collect some free food.
Always try to learn a few words of a local language, "please", "thank you", "left" "right" "where's the toilet"... that sort of thing. Spent weeks learning Japanese only to not being able to make myself understood when we got there, saved by a lonely planet phrase book and the fact that many Japanese read English if they're too embarrassed to speak it. My French was reasonable O Level standard and it seemed to me that, certainly Parisians, refused to make an attempt to understand - never had this problem in Germany though my German was weaker - and sufficed on a trip to Lens and prior trips to Belgium. I will be looking to improve my Arabic before heading back to Morocco for the third time next summer - world events permitting.
Dodgy dealings in the NZ wine trade. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...bottles-of-allegedly-fraudulent-wine-exported I cannot think that I have ever seen a bottle of any NZ wine here, although when I tried some in the UK it was very good.
This seems small fry compared to this French wine scandal. Brit drinkers warned as 40 MILLION bottles of French wine may be fake
Generally agree. TBH as much as the lip service has been played, I do rather think the club has made a dogs dinner of it. Villa at home the previous week, as originally announced, would have been a sell out. I dare say there may have been issues with the pitch as a result - "gardening" is not even remotely on my radar as a hobby, let alone professionally manicured grass- but I do wonder if we should have suffered it and got the groundsmen on a bit of overtime to do the best they could? Even when surveying the pitch as part of my dissertation I was not allowed on it: I set up the theodolite and Glyn Evans (Operations Director) walked the pitch with the staff for me. I think we'll be fine during the season but Liverpool may well be too big a bite too soon.
Not so sure, French wine sales to the UK are dropping every year. They are well down the list of supplier countries now.
