Morning all, grey but dry here, so I must do some jobs before the forecast showers arrive. Late night yesterday as the dinner I was at was lengthy, with plenty of food and as is normal when you have 200 people in a hall, very noisy. It was gone midnight when I left, and the coffee was still to be served. Some of the four year olds seem to have rather more stamina.
The start of another week, and the forecast suggests that it will become hot again. The corporation grass cutter has been along my green lane and broken down some of the overhanging tree branches. It looks as if I will have to go along and clear up the mess he has made if I don't wish to duck under blackthorn spikes.
Good morning from Jersey, where we have had ain overnight. I went to bed early last night as I was shattered after work, only to wake up at twenty past 4!
I managed an early start today before it became too hot to work, as it is now. I found that a robin had managed to find a way into one of the cages I built to keep cabbage white butterflies at bay. As hard as I looked I cannot see where it made it's entrance, but it flew up and joined a second one in one of the trees.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/cataloni...dependence-yes-wins-referendum-114626547.html Interesting development - Catalonia to declare themselves independent if the Yes vote wins the referendum. If it happens, I'm wondering what the La Liga ramifications will be for Barcelona.
It is a beautiful summers morning in this part of the country, just right for a spot of weeding. It seems that Mme has the afternoon planned for me, so I will have to play catch up on the Tour de France this evening.
Espanyol are also in Barcelona, so it would affect them as well. Will Catalonia be allowed in UEFA? What is the situation regarding those from Catalonia who have represented Spain in full internationals? The Spanish Grand Prix would become the Catalonian Grand Prix.
11.00 pm, it is still 30°C and a combine harvester is hard at work in a field down the lane. Most of the combining is done these days with a contractor who goes from farm to farm, and he has to make his annual money in a fairly short season. The oil seed rape has been cut in the field behind mine this afternoon. I was out with the aircon in the car at full blast. I hope that the driver of the combine has some.
Popping in to find no new transfers - would like to see a few more in but only early days. Enjoy the week yállllllll
