Morning, dave; morning, all. Ouch! I've torn a muscle in my shoulder blade in the night hence why I'm up at Dave o'clock. It's a neck injury but is manifests itself in my back. I've had it before, more centrally, which is chronic injury status, where it is excessively painful to breathe, let alone do anything else. So I'm looking on the bright side it's not that! Just need Mrs Andy to wake up in a couple of hours, attach a TENS machine and see if I can work. Thank goodness we have the NHS... we have still got it, right? Here's hoping I recover in the next few weeks.
Morning all from a rainy St. Helier. It seems to have become drizzle since I got up and may be stopping completely.
Morning all, it is bright and sunny, but not too warm, just right for travelling. The car is packed with the few bits I need, and filled with Mme's essentials. Quite surprised she hasn't mentioned putting in the snow shovel. Tonight's hotel has been chosen because of a very interesting looking menu. Always like to give regional dishes a try, and only once over the years have not enjoyed what I ordered. So that is it until I find a decent WiFi signal. Hoping that all talk of relegation will be finished this weekend, and we can see just where the club will be going next season with player comings and goings.
Evening all. Safely arrived in the south of France, and have settled in among the pine trees in the hills above the Med. Yesterday night I stayed in a hotel that had a great menu, and an equally great chef. I wasn't sure that I could face stuffed pigs trotter, so went for the fillet of trout. Everything on the menu and in the bottle were local produce and the combination of flavours led to a memorable meal. Dessert was pain perdu, or lost bread, something I can recommend. All this was washed down with a 50 cl bottle of fine red wine. Unfortunately Mme is not advised to drink wine at present, so I had to manage it all on my own. Chateauroux made sure of promotion back to Ligue 2 with an away win with one game to spare, so I felt very relaxed and slept well despite another Horns defeat. Nearly here this afternoon and there was a car on it's roof in the outside lane of the autoroute. Glad to see that no one appeared to be badly hurt, although looking at the state of the car it is a wonder how they got anyone out. The emergency services had not arrived, but other drivers had sorted things, with one walking back to slow traffic, brave man, and others looking after those from the car. Concern for others still ranks highly here I am pleased to say.
Morning all from a wet St. Helier. It's not raining at the moment, but jerzeypie is marshalling at a motorsport event today and the damp conditions could make things interesting.
As you know I live in the sticks, and have a broadband speed of 2.08 Mbps. Today I am relying on a WiFi signal in an equally rural spot, yet have a broadband speed of 45.80 Mbps. This seems strange to say the least.
Morning all. Had a RTA on the way back from the match in the rain and roadworks... Totalled the car in front and the passengers all went to hospital. We were uninjured ( thanks to our skoda which the ambulance lady called a tank)... but pretty shocked ... been a bit of a hard time recently.... But will 'keep on keeping on' ....
Sorry to read that Yorkie. I am glad that you are ok if rather shaken. I also hope that those taken to hospital are not badly injured. We have decided that after all our travelling to take it easy today, so sat in dappled shade watching the pine cones that are directly above my head, and hoping they are not about to fall.
