    Great result Dave!

Just thought I would mention going to see The Who in Glasgow last Friday, I think it was my 17th Who gig. I get nervous about going to see the Who now as they are 70 and things may go pear shaped. I should not have worried, they put on a splendid show. Something I have not seen before at a gig - Roger must have put his back out swinging his mike as on came a physio who gave him a couple of chiropractic cracks in front of everyone. No leaving the field of play for him and no ref to bring him back on.

Morning all, fabulous weather at present. I wonder how long it will last?

Lots of things to do; there are not enough hours in the day. My design for netting cages to stop butterflies laying their eggs on my cabbages looks fine. We will see if it is in practice.

Hope that all went well yesterday Yorkie, and it was a fitting send off for a lady who was lucky enough to have a long life.

It looks like another sunny day in rural France, although the temperature is not quite as high due to a light northerly wind. I needed to do some watering last night as some of my vegetables were starting to dry out and no rain is forecast before the weekend at the earliest. At present they are looking good, so worth the effort.

I read this on the WML.

"Did anyone else wonder how high Okaka can (not) jump
I think his top jump height is around 12 inches upwards
Billy Jennings was about half his height and could jump much higher (and had that strange ability to hang in the air ... never understood the theory of that)

The concept of Okaka hanging in the air would defy all known physics!"

Sorry to all of you who are below a certain age, but Billy Jennings played at the same time as big Cliff. He was quite slight, but did have this ability to "hang in the air". Is it all about timing, weight, or what? Any ideas?

I think Billy Jennings joined in the late 60's well after Holton played, I have not researched so stand corrected if wrong.

You are correct SH. I was confusing him with John Fairbrother who did play at the same time as Holton and Uphill.

Good to see that people in Germany are offering a bed for the night to those who traveled from Monaco to watch the football, following the attack on the German coach.

Morning all, another warm sunny day in prospect, but the planting will have to be on hold for a bit as the car has to go in for a service today. The garage owner has a perfectly good French accent that I can understand, and we have some good conversations. His mechanic however might be from a different planet as he speaks some strange dialect that most of the time is beyond me. Never mind. If at first you don't succeed.............!

Possibly even confusing him with George Harris - he was capable of the most enormous leaps I've ever seen, and was the main reason for the buzzes of excitement whenever Watford won a corner.

Had a huge moment of panic earlier today. In desperation over poor broadband from my provider, I swapped to Sky - mainly because their offer for fibre broadband, telephone and TV knocked 60% off what I have been paying - and today was changeover day.

After getting everything up and running, I went straight to Cricfree to watch the Brisbane Roar vs Kashima Antlers match in the AFC Champions League. I nearly died when I got the message that Sky automatically block such sites. After working out how to overcome that hurdle, I then found that Cricfree weren't streaming the match...

Just had an e-mail from my old ISP. They were offering a mobile phone that could send and receive messages almost before they were written it is so fast. Seeing as on a good day I might get 3G reception it is of little interest. The phone might be good, but the signal from the mast is not.
