Yes, seriously bad news. Maybe I should go on strike. Hoping for a good birthday present at the end of the month.
Morning all, looks like a nice sky at present. Blue with light fluffy clouds tinted pink by the rising sun. OFH building services are required again, so if anyone has a bit of time to do a match thread it would be received with thanks.
Tried to knock up a quick match thread for tomorrow and the site will not cooperate. Keep getting a message to say "following error", without it saying what the error is.
OK, *****s out of my workplace and the likelihood/possibility of their return very small. For those of you not aware what I've been through at work, it's been horrible. The church tried to cover up a number of safeguarding issues to do with children. I whistleblew and it's been dreadful since - shoot the messenger. Although things are far from ideal at work, the main significant danger has passed. In fact, I would say there is no significant danger left. But the stigma remains in terms of being the whistleblower (my colleague I did this with has already been forced out). My resignation will be given within the week. I've fought for two years. My family can't take the strain. Crazy when I think about it. But the world in reality is very different to what we would hope for. We hope everybody would stand up against situations that put children in danger. They don't. Institutions and persons of responsibility you hope would act in accordance with moral imperative, in my experience, don't. Operation Yewtree and the recent revelations with celebrities/ football *****s and the magnificent people who stood up and spoke up have made this easier. I salute them.
Andy, I applaud you and wish you well, if only there were more like you this world would be a much better place! Good morning all from a cold and dry Weston-super-Mare! Have a good day!
Sorry Andy... but you will know you did what was right.......... Who knows what else will emerge in the future..... all the other sports, etc etc
And I salute you for your stand. We do indeed live in a strange world, where 'covering up', rather than exposing corruption, is seen as the right thing to do. I guess you should thank your lucky stars that you're not as high profile as Chelsea Manning, Edward Snowden or Julian Assange though - some of the vitriol that has gone their way from people who don't even know them is astounding.
Brave of you Andy to stick to your guns over the period since you first told us, and I would also support your fight against the wrong. Sad that you can no longer stand it, and I just hope that when you are replaced they get someone with the same moral fibre.
