First softball match today after a few weeks out with an injury to my right calf and I took one just above my right knee. Later in the game, when I was batting, I managed to hit the ball in such a way that as I was running to first base, the ball followed me and ended up hitting me on the top of the head!
Morning all, warm already and it will be hot this afternoon. The big day for our small commune with the annual fete. An all day event, finished off with fireworks that draw the crowds from miles away. The field has been watered to try and prevent a fire, but it is sad to see that extra security will be in place to protect the 8,000 or so who will attend. Last day of watering daughter's plants as she is returning from the UK today, but still have to keep up with mine. It looks as if the wild bees have been busy as I might just have a great crop of runner beans. Public holiday here, so supermarket is only open for a short period and Mme has thought of some things we need. Guess where I am off to.
Yeehaaa - having been awarded gold for men's individual up&down the stairs on crutches, am being released this afternoon. There's nothing like sleeping in your own bed, showering in your own shower, sh****ng in your own toilet and having your own wife wait on you hand and foot. Not to mention having control of the TV remote instead of having to watch what some grumpy old sod on the other side of the ward wants to watch...

BB I had my leg smashed up in a motorbike accident 50years ago, in plaster for several months, they had to almost break my knee and ankle to get the mobility back, well worth it in the end, without all the pain I would not be walking now Hope it all works out well for you
