Morning all, I am pleased to say that the temperature has dropped and it feels far more comfortable today. Looking forward to Saturday when we will be having our village feast. Already preparations are well underway as the barn where it will be held has been given a bit of a clean up, and residents have been returning from the shops with ingredients for dishes they have promised. If last year is anything to go by I probably should not eat anymore before Saturday.

 

I spent yesterday in hospital for the usual reason. I'm at home tomorrow and am off to spend the weekend at my Mum's for her 70th birthday.

Hope you are better today then Base, I find it a bit depressing that my 70th birthday seems all too close - makes me almost old enough to be your father ( ) - but still the right side of OFH

Morning all - bright and sunny here. Today is our 38th Wedding Anniversary - not so shabby eh?

Warm and sunny here also, so looking forward to some work in the fields while Mme starts her French Onion Tarts for tomorrows feast. Brilliant ride yesterday by Chris Froome in the second time trial. Barring accidents he will win the Tour again this year.

Back from a few days looking after grandchildren. Well done Leo and Mrs...I'm past 70 but a few days entertaining a 5-year-old, a 3-year-old and a 4-month old makes me fell about 20. They're an absolute delight and we have a lot of fun. I'd forgotten how painful paddling on Brighton beach in bare feet can be though!

 

Thoughts tonight are with the people of Munich. It seems that these sort of attacks can happen anywhere in the world.

 

I wonder if the attempted abduction near RAF Marham was meant to be another Lee Rigby style of attack?
